Both charged by the judiciary and will both miss 1 week even with an early guilty plea.

We can't take a trick with suspensions and injuries, can we?

I think Thompson is VERY unlucky to be charged. Infact i'd be a little surprised if we don't challenge it. Contact was not excessively late. Nor was it too high or too low. Would've made contact around the lower stomach-hip region.
 
You have to lay charges to justify the high penalty count or you have to punt the reffs. That is the logic I have seen from the MRC year after year
 
I would inclined to fight both charges. Thompson - didn't warrant a penalty, and Blair - seen him do much worse than that.
 
There was nothing in either. Both were just rugby league incidents. There was no twisting of the leg so Blair should be fine and I'm not sure what Bodene was suppose to do. He went low for a tackle and Widdop kicked it. He can't become invisible.

its a disgrace how somehow When melbourne do things they can get away with it. I think Blairy is now being targeted its a joke.

Ps 57th minute after the scrum Moltzen tackles Slater then for no reason Slater punches Moltzen in the head in front of the pocket ref and gets away with it. If Moltzen stays down and fakes it. Video ref has a look Slater penalised and suspended.

Daily terror is definitely saying Thompson is free to play if he takes the early plea. (but the terrorgraph is generally wrong about most things.)
 
What is Blair being sited for? Tackling the legs of the player? At no point was the opposing player in discomfort or at risk of being injured. If he had of deliberately twisted or yanked it in a way to injure the player then sure fair enough. All he did was lift the leg off the ground to stop the player from moving further forward. Absolute joke.

The referees gave the West Tigers an all round trashing last night.
 
Refs would have Blair on their 'to watch' files.

Didn't he cop a week last year for a leg pull?

Yeah you correct.
Shame he has this reputation as that was a minor incident and it certainly looked worse as old mates foot got caught under Farah's arm as well. Take the week and regroup.

The charge on Thompson is despicable. We are not playing RU, AFL or Soccer here…we are playing RUGBY LEAGUE. Stop trying to pussy this sport down. That was good hard defence that he could not pull out of...he was commited and didnt miss. If fought we would have got off that one I'd say. Trouble is with his points now he can not sneeze for the remainder of the year without being suspended. The way he is ripping in he is a lay down masiare for a few weeks off at some stage.
 
Nothing in the Blair tackle… Challenge that one as its actually Farah who has applied pressure.

Bodene will go... When it happened I thought he was lucky to not be penalised. The contact was terrible and he is no chance of winning. He attacked the legs and thats a no no!

Bodene Thompson has lots of mongrel and aggression for the game. Love it, but sometimes that aggression will cost him suspensions. As good as he looks so far, I'm worried he will only play half the season due to suspensions. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

He certainly adds a lot to the forward pack, keep t up big fella.
 
Blair has pled not guilty and will front the judiciary. Bodene has apparently accepted the one week ban
