Yeah ….wasn't he going to the Dogs at one stage?

I don't think he was shafted by Sheens either ....the interchangable 9,7,6 probably stood in his way with getting a true shot at FG...then there is Moltzen.....

Good Luck to him wherever he ends up...Might be the Captain of the inaugaral Wests Tigers State Cup team in 2011...who knows...

Seriously Centar, young Blake was rushed into the 1st grade squad after only 4 NSW Cup games after 2 years being out from not 1 but 2 knee reconstructions, playing behind , then a well beaten WT forward pack.

Anyway, all the best to the young bloke, who has given his all, on & off the field for the Tigers

I am aware of that, I have stated before he was not ready…not up to first grade standard. I sympathise with him, two tough knee injuries, both at terribles times - very unlucky. But this is the nature of the profession, it has happened to numerous players before.

I don't care if he had to play behind an under 10's forward back - he fluffed kicks, dropped balls and made poor options. We can't expect him to keep a spot and earn a contract when that is how he plays when given the opportunity.

I know a lot of people on this forum love the guy because he is a great bloke, very genuine, talks to you, responds to facebook msgs...but I think it has got in the way of an objective opinion.

Anyway, I am only going into all this because whilst I agree Sheens has made some questionable decisions in his time, I don't think Blake was treated unfairly or not given a go. He was given more than a fair go, there are plenty of other players who 'give their all' in our feeder teams and are yet to get a go. Sheens realised that he did not have enough football under his belt after two serious injuries, as you have already stated.

I have no doubts that Blake can become a great player, but I won't be kicking and screaming in three years time when he is a key playmaker at a club other than the Tigers.

Agree Centaur - Plus we are already carrying Rob Lui - A very young Half.

Weve got two young halves in Lui & Moltzen,& Mickinnon,Brown & Mullany at full back all ahead in the pecking order.
Lazarus needs to rise elsewhere

Good luck to Blake. No need to criticise a bloke for putting, from his perception, his career first. However, sadly I am not sure it is the right option for him.

yeah heas a traitor, so is pat richards, brett hodgson, skandalis, ben galea. lets not forget those blokes who retired too. what about brett kimorley? he's a serial traitor. They should only let players play for one team.
Or they could just stop you from making idiotic posts

Mate your the idiotic poster. Although i don't agree with the first poster, Blake Lazarus moving on is completely different to those players just mentioned :brick: :brick:

I was taking the mickey, the players named moved on for legitimate reasons, the same as blake lazarus.

i have heard from a good source that blake has suigned with newtown jets. i this is true we should drop him out of state cup now we stuck with him for 2 years and now he is being a trator. but at least darren nicholls might get his chance now.

You're clueless. No truly, you are. That's one of the more ridiculous posts I've seen. Why would you drop a player who is trying to further his career because he's not getting a run in first grade and is no longer in the Tigers top 25? Here
s another newsflash, David Gower signed with the Dragons a couple of months ago and do you think he has been dropped? No, he's still busting his hump for Balmain and doing a damn good job while he's at it, as is Lazarus.

the tigers said when they signed him (to a first grade contract) that it was brcause of his injuries and he had stuck by us and now he wont do the same for us. call me clueless if you like but if he was really a tigers fan he would stick it out. we gave him a chance he played poorly (it was limited game time i will admit). look at rhys pritchard, nathan waters, eloni, al shirnback they could all play easily at other clubs but they are LOYAL something that a lot of you dont seem to belive in

Rhys Pritchard wanted a release this year but as he was under contract Sheens refused the request.

No other club wants Waters.

Eloni has been developing but has never reached any great heights yet. He is a late bloomer and is signed to Balmain not Wests Tigers.

Al Schirnack is contractually bound in the same way Pritchard is.

Oh and FTR the contract of Lazarus for this season was a second tier contract, not an NRL contract

FTR? at the end of the day he is leaving the club because he has no desire to play for us. if he had any sign of desire he would stick to it and make himself better. and if he cant make it at the tigers he has no hope at the rooster with carney, pearce, anasta (who can fill in at 5/8) and they have liam foran at newtown already (who i have seen play many times as i live down the road from is junior club and he is twice as good as lazurus). but he is taking the easy way out.

FTR = For The Record.

There is much much more to this story than I would ever put on this forum as it is unfair to any involved but suffice to say if he chooses to leave than I am of the firm opinion that his reasoning is sound. If you wish to see it as the easy way out than that is your opinion and I don't think we will agree on it.

Foran will not be at the Jets next year if what I have heard is true. The club are dissapointed in his lack of progression and as such Tom Symonds played in the halves in his sted last week.

My final point is that Wests Tigers have not at any stage this year offered Lazarus an extension on his contract which runs out this season. If he chooses to leave I wish him the best as I do any player who does not tear down the clubs public image before of after their departure

if foran can't make it at the roosters then lazarus has no chance. and if there is a lot more than say it, i cant see anything unfair if he is already leaving. and i wish him the best if he leaves but he is still a traitor.

Give up the dribble..
You obviously have no clue to what he has gone through, but based on your pathetic speculations it is transparent all you have is a "reliable source".
So i take it you'd spend $100 out of your own pocket every day to go to work to be paid $50?
Only traitor around here is the likes of yourself who turn on players and have a sook because you didn't get your way…

Oh…but you already did and came up with dribble like this thread...

 @ leaving his job because of too many foremen...

Lazarus is not a traitor, you might want to check the meaning of that before you accuse him of betraying the Tigers. As Smeg already mentioned, the Tigers have not offered him a contract for next season. Do you actually comprehend what that means?

Yes, that's right, unless he looks elsewhere for a rugby league contract then he may as well look for a new career choice. But please, don't let those facts get in the way of personally attacking someone when you clearly didn't know why he was looking elsewhere in the first place.

He already has.

crouching tiger i said i DIDNT leave my job because of to many foremans i said i am still there and i will stay there. and if you all seem to know this big secret about why he is leaving the club then say it and depending on the reason i may agree with it.
willow a 2 year old would know what not getting offered a contract means. and people should play for the love of the game and club not for money. and he is leaving to play for another reserve grade club which has fantasic halves (the best pairing in the comp in my eyes and in many more) with good depth, he is not getting a roosters contract he is getting a newtown contract so it would be just as good (maybe even better) for him to stay at the tigers but he must not like the tigers enough. you may think i am talkin dribble and i dont have a reliable source but you will find out soon how reliable it is and then you won't have much to say.
