Bleak times ahead..?

Marshall has very little outside the culture stuff, and pride in the jersey. When it comes to strategising game plans, picking the right team, and managing a bench, he’s lost.
That's just ridiculous, how do you get the starters/bench right when all you have is a bunch of barely reserve graders to choose from and the game plan falls to shit with poor quality replacements.

Even Bennett was in danger of a spoon last season with the injuries he had to deal with.

Close to 150 points scored against us in the last 3 games. Our defence exploited today by a bigger, stronger team, our attack sadly blunt and without ideas.
Injuries have also exposed our depth - but to their credit, I saw (most) of the team having a go, right up to the last try.

It's clear (now) that the early form we experienced earlier on was built on shaky foundations. Once the other teams started to get their mojo going, the difference between a good team and and average team has become apparent.

I am not sure where Benji goes from here. We got the dogs next week, and they are due for a win. Hopefully it won't be against us, but a lot depends on what team Benji picks. I don't see our half and 5/8 combining to create any real opportunities in attack, and this needs to be addressed. This said, I don't know who you could pick.

Team has my support. It is hard not to feel sorry for the guys that are playing their guts out in what is starting to become a critical situation. Avoiding a spiralling descend into the bottom 4's must be what is the belief going forward. Starting next week.

This is not about making excuses, more a reality - which to us supporters, is not startling.

I have to apologise to everyone it's actually my fault for the losses

Every game of the Tigers I have watched this year we have Won I haven't seen us have a loss this year

The next game against the Dogs I will watch the whole game not be at a BBQ or look after the grandkids I will put that all aside to get the season back on track

I will be there cheering Us On

Bennett’s entire squad went down was out at one point. Our injuries have had an impact, but not to the point that excuses some of that defence today.

The players we have missing are the ones that were responsible for our wins they are big outs, it's really hurting the team hence it falling to bits in defense, Benji can't go onto the field and do it for them.

Bleak times indeed. We are reserve grade level. No point dissecting the performance or complaining about players because it was almost all rubbish.

Ethan Roberts can hold his head high. Did well for a debut and not having played much footy in the last 12 months. Think we have a good one there.

Any debutant is gonna come on and rip in. Enthusiasm for getting a chance on the big stage will do that. I don’t think he should get any extra credit for that. The test will be if he puts in that kind of effort after 30-40 games when we are under the pump.

My concern is how low the morale is now. Sure they all put on a good front in the media reels etc, but this team has lost it. Yes good players will come back and hopefully our performances will improve somewhat, but I don’t think we will see what we saw from this team at the beginning of this season, again.

Looks like Taylan is out for the rest of the season if he's shoulder dislocated which it seems likely it did and Madden is going for scans. But hey Jerome "The Culture" Luai is still here for 18 months.

The bye has come at a good time, 2 weeks hopefully to get some troops back and work on some player's confidence.

If we can't get up for the dogs game it's definitely season over, at least it won't be any spoonware.

True.
While initial success makes subsequent victories much more likely, it comes with a few inherent traps:
  • Complacency: The comfort of being successful can sometimes lead to a loss of the hunger and adaptability that got you there in the first place (what Marshall was warning about).
  • Diminishing Returns: While a little early success triggers a self-propelling cascade, continuous or exponentially larger early windfalls do not necessarily scale up further achievements at the same rate - probably our case...
