Blues can get better

Laurie Daley has said they can get better. And given the age of most of the team, I think he could be right. On the other hand can QLD??

They were better last night and so good to see them playing a bit of footy, rather than the boring grind since Daley took over. Much improved with a little ball movement and very physical, just like WT on the weekend.

I thought it was great that they had belief when they went behind. In years gone by, QLD would have kicked away. They've definitely got more fuel in the tank towards the end of the game.

Totally agree the Blues will get better,it was great to see they didn't let the Qlders bully them around the park all night, they played very good football and stood up for themselves when the pressure was on…

On a side note ...how good was it to see 91500 fans at the game...maybe Rugby League was the winner last night....

Good for the advertisement of the game, but I'd prefer it in Sydney.

Blues beat the Maroons with Thurston and Inglis having big games. That was the icing on the cake for me.

They can get better but at the moment they have Hopoate, Farah, Gallen, Pearce and Hodkinson who arent offering very much.

The game turned on the back of some repeat sets and sustained field position from the NSW forwards late in the game but dont let that hide the fact that the 6.7 and 9 had good periods of the game on QLD's line but looked as flat as a Wests Tigers attack.

Both teams are suffering a bit from the loyalty thing.

QLD should be looking at Papali, Hunt,Segeyaro, Napa, Gagai and the like to bring a bit of x factor.

Austin would be a good selection off the bench for NSW, could rest Farah or cover for any backline position.

Pearce and Hodkinson had a very solid game, I would ask for little more, Great Intent in defense, good Kicks, Calmness. Im happy.

Farah was relatively quiet by his standards, Im curious what his defensive stats were like.

Gallen went well for a man who hasn't played many games fro Cronulla of late and popped a rib. His leadership was the difference.

All played good, I would like to watch Josh jackson a little closer as I noticed him the Least of the Blues last night.

Finally, Inglis is Scary, his contribution directly equated to additional menace and success by the QLDers, I pray he has a quiet Game 3

Unfortunately, I can't see NSW winning another series in the near future.

Not until they stop reading the NSW papers in the lead up to Origin…not until Daley finds a halves pairing that works

He and Jason Taylor are of the same stuff, although Daley has more cred than Taylor will ever have. Both are blinkered, tunnel-visioned, stubbornly loyal to duds at the expense of improving the team to be more competitive. Maybe it took last night's flogging to show those inadequacies in Daley. Maybe it will take the wooden-spoon for Taylor. One's already happened, the other looks probable. Desperate days for Blues and Tigers fans.
