BMM may have broken leg

It didn't need to happen either! The tacke was made but one of the Scotsman rolled him onto his back I slow the play of the ball I guess. Was a good first hit up for his country aswell, ashame.

This is gutting! Hopefully he can heal nicely and be into some preseason before Christmas.

Better then ligament damage.

Should be back and raring to go after the Xmas break

From what I saw could be both a break and ligament damage Smeg

Will BMM ever get an injury free break ??

Only saw it once , does anyone have footage ??

Only once????

Gut instinct though…thorough diagnosis

Couldve also recieved a cork from the tackle, I'll jump on FB and confer
with my counterpart Dr Google

Im sure its not a waste of time and a nothing game to those playing

He'll be right

Let's agree to disagree, because I think the whole concept of a RL World Cup is a waste of time, especially when players can virtually play for whoever they like and represent more than one country.

I guess you are entitled to your opinion. Players cannot play for whomever they like but hey let's not let the facts spoil a biased story. Have you even seen any of the games? I have and they all have been great. Tough, competitive with high skill level. What in the hell do you want?

My Grandson can play for three countries. He was born in NZ and lives there, his father is an Australian and his maternal ( that means on his mothers side ) Grandmother was born in England. So, he can play for NZ, Aust or England. What is wrong with that?

Because it looked very similar to a injury I saw recently with a NFL college player Ink and he had both a break and ligament damage

If you watch a lot of the injuries on you tube (particularly acls, medials ) in many cases you can actually the damage occurring with what the body part does

Wests Tigers forward Ben Murdoch-Masila suffered an ankle injury during Tonga’s opening match of the 2013 Rugby League World Cup against Scotland last week.
>
According to Tonga’s medical staff, Murdoch-Masila is progressing well and the injury is not as serious as initially feared.
>
The barnstorming forward was twisted awkwardly during the early stages of the 26-24 loss, with MRI scans revealing damage to the high ankle with no separation of the syndesmosis or ankle mortise.
>
Murdoch-Masila will be monitored over the coming days as to whether he takes any further part in the tournament.
>
Tonga has two remaining pool matches against Cook Islands (tomorrow 6:30am AEDT) and Italy (Monday 3am AEDT).
>
Wests Tigers will advise if there are any further developments on Murdoch-Masila’s injury.

Awesome news… well thats its not as bad as initially thought. He is the one guy I feel needs to keep building to realise his potential, and I dont know how he would have dealt with another set-back. Good luck to the bloke getting back out there this WC.

Very good news given the early suspicions about the severity and type of injury.

That's a relief. Hope he puts in a big offseason & secures a 1st grade spot along with Siro in the 2nd row. That's some strike-power!

ha ha.. kind of mean in a way, to see if anyone would bite, but i have to admit it gave me a laugh….

in other news, great to hear the injury isnt as bad as first thought. he was awesome last season and i would hate for anything to derail his momentum towards being even awesomer (thats a real word, right?) next year. good luck big ben!

Sounds like a high ankle sprain Nurse Ink

A lot of RICE will do the trick

Please escort the patient through to the ladies at the front desk , let him know we will bulk bill him

Can you let Mr Dank know I'll just be a second ,Nurse Ink

Murdoch-Masila hoping to line-up against Italy

Wests Tigers and Tonga second rower Ben Murdoch-Masila has put paid to reports of a serious leg injury, claiming he might be back in time for Tonga's crucial next game against Italy on Sunday.
Speaking after Tonga's 22-16 victory over the Cook Islands, Murdoch-Masila was upbeat about his chances of playing in the tournament.
"The doc told me 2-4 weeks," said Murdoch-Masila.
"I've been working hard with the physio. He thinks I might be back for the next game against Italy."
Murdoch-Masila wasn't getting ahead of himself, despite his positivity, saying he wouldn't risk coming back a match early.
"We're pushing it to make it," said Murdoch-Masila. "If we're not quite ready, I'll rest it."
The explosive forward laughed off rumours he had done a more serious injury, saying he was shocked to read reports he would miss months with the injury.
"It's all good," said Murdoch-Masila. "I heard that everyone said I'd broken my leg or something!"
