BMM your thoughts ??

BMM has the potential to be very useful coming off the bench in the latter stages of games. Providing that he responds to the new training opportunities which will prevail in 2013 BMM could become a quality (BMW) forward.

That said being a qlder and a west player happy I'd imagine you'd have him walking on water :slight_smile:

I know I rate the tigers blues players from the 80's just above the gods !

Goose I rate him a better player because he was a better player ,great workrate , great go forward

Cleal wouldn't have had a half of the workrate of Lindner , and Cleal wouldn't have touched a ball a third of the time in his own half compared to the oppositions half

you'll never hear me saying a bad word about lidner thought he was awesome. wasn't implying you were wrong about lidner was just saying being a qlder playing for your club side he would have had to be one of your faves. I was quite young when they were in there prime and remember cleal being a devastating runner and feared him when the

Yeah he was a favourite , but always thought he was a mercenary ,especially after playing for as many clubs as he did (8 all told)

BMM generally offered good impact off the bench this year, but I don't feel he was given enough game time. I do recall seeing him out at Campbelltown during one of the trials when he played for Balmain and he looked very sluggish and didn't excel at all. Funnily enough when he was given a go in FG, he seemed a totally different player.

He's a very powerful runner of the ball, has good leg speed and has shown he has a very good ability to break tackles and hit gaps when running the right line. I think he'll prove a very handy weapon out wide when attacking the line and running off someone like Benji/Braith/Miller. I'd like to see him earn a starting position, but at the moment his work rate isn't high enough. I'd probably look to sub him with Blair as I don't feel he should be playing 80 minutes.

I really think this has to be his season to step up ,but I have my doubts he will .

He looked like he is carrying some weight (know the feeling ) and if Potter is going to blast these guys in the off season he may not cope well with it

Love to see the bloke as a starting second rower and going off his head the first 20-25 minutes on the edges terrorising opposition halves and then being brought back for the last 20 minutes to do the same

i don't know why ,but I get the feeling he may be another Bronson Harrison though and will go no further

He seems to lack involvement when he is on the field and is almost timid when he hits the line (hopefully its just Sheens coaching )

his lack of involvement has a lot to do with the lack of game time he is given

He is a gun an I think under potter will excel

Ben Murdoch-Masila (born 7 February 1991) is a New Zealand rugby league player for the Wests Tigers in the NRL. His position is prop, second row and lock.

Murdoch-Masila played junior football with Otahuhu Black. He undertook a sholarship with Wests Tigers at Keebra Park High and was a member of the team that won the 2009 Arrive Alive Cup.[1] Murdoch-Masila weighed 150 kg when he arrived at Keebra Park, dropping 40 kg before he joined the Wests Tigers NYC team.[2]
Murdoch-Masila made his NRL debut in the first round of the 2010 NRL semi finals against the Sydney Roosters.[3] He is one of very few players to have made his first appearance in a finals match.[4]
In 2011, Murdoch-Masila made a further seven appearances, and may have made more if not for injuries. At the end of the season he was selected for the Junior Kiwis.[5]
A regular on the bench in 2012, Murdoch-Masila played in 20 games for the season and scored five tries, including a double against the Eels. He also signed an extension to stay with the club until the end of 2015, with coach Tim Sheens saying, "There is no doubt Ben has enormous talent and potential. He is a strike weapon and can become a top line player of the game with the right kind of commitment to his training regime."[6]

I was a bit surprised to find out that BMM has only played 29 games in FG since making his debt in the semi's in 2010 & 20 of those games were this year. I would of thought that he'd racked up around the 50 game mark by now & that probably explains why he drifts in & out of some games while being lethal in others. Hopefully without any injuries next year he can be pushing for a starting spot towards the back end of the year, I think we need either Pettybourne or BMM staring in the back row & i would be starting Pettybourne at this stage.

Do you know this for fact or are you just stereo typing?

I got told by a coaching staff member in 2011 that BMMs work ethic was absolute top notch

Oh well, we'll agree to disagree on that one. Unless you know BMM personally, I wouldn't be jumping the gun and throwing those type of statements around since he's only 22 and still developing.

Wow, incredibly harsh call! Still you're entitled to your opinion.

I've got every confidence he'll step up because of his attitude and temperament and of course the positive and refreshing influence of Potter.

TBH he only had about 4 note able games this year. Was definitely his best season but I can't see him becoming a superstar if he hasn't shown glimpses by now.

If he gets his hole-running right he could lead our forward pack but that will depend on MP.

Those calling for him to start you're dreaming - he is a impact player off the bench 100%
