Bodene Thompson

Plenty of people bagging all sorts of players but nobody has mentioned Thompson.

He's played one good game all season. Useless. Takes two good hit ups a game usually in the first 10 minutes and is then unsighted for the rest of the match. Would love to see his stats from tonight, if he made more than 30 metres I'll be shocked.

Yet another very very average player given to us by Sheens.

This whole "average player given by sheens" thing is old. Overall his signings have been good players who haven't performed once at the tigers - hardly sheen's fault.

Never said he was. But saying "yet another" as if all Sheen's signings were stupid is just stupid in itself. Overall Sheens made good signings in my opinion.

Bodene has been underwhelming, but shows signs that he is improving as the year goes on.

Its an old excuse, but he has spent the last few years with injuries and hardly played. I have a feeling he will come good and be part of Potters long term plans.

Sheens left Potter a mess, he signed a handful of good players but most of our recruitment has been awful for years.

Sheens left Potter a team he thought he could handle - and he may have been able to had he not been sacked. Potter and Sheens are extremely different coaches. Potter hasn't been able to work with a team Sheens may have been able to. Sheens is the cause of the current side but it might have been a top side under a different coaching style. To describe what Sheens left as a mess is an overstatement. Sheens left a team meant for a different style of coach.

Yea, unfortuantely Sheens had an old boys club which became his downfall too, a team that sook and only wanted to play with their buddies, a team of babies.

Based on what we dished up last year, I doubt we would be any better right now.

No it wouldn't. It is not a top side and was always going to struggle. Poor recruitment is the main cause of that.

It's not an overstatement at all. He left Potter a rabble, a very poor roster. Simple as that.

Like many of our signings another fringe first grader

I hope both Brooks and Moses are going to be the next Sterling and Kenny or Stuart and Daley because if they aren't God help us

Actually, I don't think Thompson has gone that badly.

That said, I think the starting backrow next year might be Sironen at lock, with Sue & Fulton. BMM & Thompson might be benchies.

I think it is hard to judge any of our backrowers.

With Benji in the halves they see no structured play, they cannot set lines and plays and they use a lot of petrol getting over run and cut out.

He may turn out to be an average player but I believe you only have to look at the improvement of Blair since being shifted to the front row rotation. I thought he was just lazy and dogging it in the backrow but now, looking at how everyone bar Fults (who is a playmaker most of the time) has looked average on our fringes

Gareth Ellis and Todd Payten never looked average , and in reality not much has changed at the Tigers since those days ,essentially apart from Lui we have the same playing personnel in many key positions

Thompson is not a problem, I think he is going well.

Buchanan however is another issue. I thought he was our weakest last night. Does not run with an intensity.

Ellis looked his best when playing off Lui. Payten played more prop then backrow

Marshall has also regressed terribly

Fair enough Smeg , but I think our best forward pack to take the field still hasn't been tried

And that is
8 Woods
9 Farah
10 Keefy
11 Sue
12 Fulton
13 Blair (playing tight)
