Fun fact. I understand the system, I understand its advantages and its disadvantages. Doesn't mean I blindly regurgitate an outcome because it suits me or my current argument.

Chris Minns had some reassuring words on future gun control. This is part of what he had to say -

"Introducing a bill to parliament to make it more difficult to get these horrifying weapons that have no practical use in our community. If you're not a farmer, you're not involved in agriculture, why do you need these massive weapons to put the public in danger and make life dangerous and difficult for New South Wales police?"

Minns had stood up and knows what is required to make the community feel safer. Well done.

Let’s put the blame where it really rests , Albo and his Labour Party , if he had taken stronger action against the Muslims who were saying they were so happy the Jews had been slaughtered, then he takes no action against the rallies that have lasted for two years , not a word from Albo or his party , instead he brings in 3000 Gaza people without been fully checked , then he brings the isis brides home , the poor Jews left wondering what’s going on , it just shows Albo and the labour party lean towards the Muslim people. Albo is a disgrace, this should put a nail in his coffin ⚰️

What about tougher national security and terrorism screening? What about we identify the real issue?

Yep i remember a couple of years back when they were chanting gas the jews , then we have those burning the National flag and those waving the flag of terrorists , this hatred needs to stop now and this government of ours needs to wake up and those who are practising extremism should be dealt with harshly

Im sure a lot of stories are circulating atm. Not out of maliciousness, but just as a result of panic. Thankfully one of the few good things about social media is how fast news travels, and this would be everywhere by now if there was anything to it.

I am not really across the current laws around stopping protest/rallies but you could be.

At what point can the government stop people protesting, apart from arresting specific individuals yelling out hate speech?

I don’t agree with a lot of protesters, just not sure you can stop them all

Yes Albo is a disgrace as are many of our other elected officials, but at least we have the opportunity from time to time to oust them from their elected positions.

The Judiciary however are another matter, many of whom have no clue about reality and public expectations and seem to answer to on one.

Ah, good old sarcasm, the lowest form of wit.

No one is asking for Albo to solve a hundred year foreign war. We want him to make sure that he does the only job that really matters to any Australian PM, keep his people safe.

In my view, he, along with his Foreign Minister and Home Affairs Minister, have clearly abrogated their fundamental job in keeping Australians safe.

What makes it more galling and disgusting to me personally is that the clear reason why they have abrogated their responsibility is that they can see votes in it for the ALP, especially for Minister Burke.

Cowed and dead Jews play well to the voters in Western Sydney. Go figure.

There will always be extremists, and a very few extremists who believe they can solve their issues by the use of violence. Govt can further restrict the availability of guns which will have a positive impact similar to that following the changes to gun laws after Port Arthur. But individuals need to own their own actions. Blaming the govt may feel good for about 5 mins but it may not prevent it happening again.
