I haven't followed boxing in a good while, Are the Klitschko brothers still Heavyweight champions?

Yep. Vitali fought and beat a Cuban named Solis (former Olympic champ I believe). I watched the fight (the whole 3 minutes) the other day on Foxtel. It was a bit unfortunate - Vitali got a half decent shot in, Solis moved back, slipped and did his knee.

They ruled it a TKO (the ruling was Solis fell as a result of the punch) but it was more a no contest. Solis clearly slipped. Shame as Solis was 17-0 and it's a crappy way to lose for the first time. Hopefully there will be a rematch when Solis is fit.

Yes crappy way to end a fight.

Thanks for the update.

No worries. There seems to be a bit of a kerfuffle over Solis's knee and how badly it was injured going in. It all seems a bit much - injuries happen in other sports but when someone twists a knee in boxing there hasa to be something controversial about it. Solis had a public training session so I don't see what the fuss is about.

In any event apparently his injury will keep him out for a while which is a shame given the lack of decent challengers in heavyweight boxing these days. No wonder people like Ray Mercer and James Smith keep coming out of retirement…

if manny cant beat a 40 year old mosley theres something wrong mosley was a champ years ago hes way over the hill bit of a joke of a fight to be honest…......what does pacman prove in this one?

The same thing that Green had to prove against Roy Jones Jr. and Paul Briggs.

Fatten the wallet mate.

cmon boxing fans are you fired up for querrero vs Katsidis? on sunday i cant wait…..hope katsidis comes out of it with the 2 world title belts......

See Danny Green has agreed to fight Tarver . Another hand picked opponent .Just wish he and Mundine would have their rematch and big pay day and retire .

Someone brought up Mundine in another thread ,so I'll take it one step further ,Hope Garth Woods beats the tripe out of Mundine tonight . Mundine is talented but I'm sick of his mouth . Should be in WWE not in boxing .

Fight wont be on til late. Telecast starts @ 7.00 I believe, but the undercard is 8 or 9 fights. Mundine & Wood probably wont lace a glove until 9.30

ok thanks for that

Best result for boxing in this country would be for them to belt each other to the point they can no longer walk and talk anymore. If someone could sever Woods' old mans spinal cord on their way out the mission will be a success

Looking forwards to seeing the pacman in action again this weekend.

Loved watching him kick that a-hole Margaritto's backside. If you saw any of the interviews afterwards, Manny said he's never been hit so hard, it really hurt….while he was saying this, Antonio was in the back of a divvy van on his way to hospital.

That was 6 months ago....time for another.

Mosley will put up a fight but he'll tire and thats when Pacquaio will smash him. Shane has pretty poor head movement (evasive), Manny wont miss him. As Shane tires he will be in huge trouble.

I think its necessary to remind you that Mosley literally destroyed Margarito nearly 2 years before Manny did. IMO, Shane never looked tired against Mayweather, Floyd just adjusted his tactics after he got caught and Shane wasn't able to land a glove on him for the rest of the fight. A big difference between the Mayweather fight and the Mosley/Pacquaio fight.. Manny will stand right infront of him, Pacman can easily be sucked into a brawl, he cant resist, he's tailor made for Mosley.. head movement isn't a requisite for this matchup.. its going to be brutal.

I still think Manny will win, but it wont be the shutout many are expecting. Most of all I just hope it lives up to expectations.

Pacquaio detroyed Margarito as well Danos and he was more than 15 pounds lighter at the time. IMO the only reason that went the distance was because Manny backed off a touch.

I thought he tired mate, he landed some great bombs early on but they didnt really have the desired effect and from then on Money was too quick.

I think your right about this becoming a bit of a slug fest, it's gonna be great.

Shane has quick feet, Manny has quick everything else plus he has the abbility to hit his target accurately, with power, whilst off balance. Add that to his normal striking and it all totalls Mosley taking a lot of punches.

Mosley does have a good chin though. I think he might've only gone down once, against Vernon Forrest, his nemesis. Yeah Manny probably could of put Margarito down, he took about 30% off his punches and was continually looking to the referee for a stoppage.. a little mercy in the ring, how about that.

Lets not forget, Daniel Geale is fighting tomorrow morning as well. 6am start for us 😱pen_mouth:

With the referee and judges all being from the USA instead of german locals, it gives Geale a real chance.
