Without doubt the best fight I've seen this year with neither warrior taking a backward step in a brutal war. If you've got a spare 30 minutes, check it out. If the above link doesn't work, you'll find it on YouTube under Rios V Alvarado.

Toe 2 toe all the way….thats tough!
thought it might come down to a points decision, RIOS wouldve got my points

Rippa of a fight. The fitness of some of these boxers is astounding and the will to keep standing and throwing is admirable.

Thought Alvarado was getting on top with his technical style, but you never know against a brawler with big punches

Rios sort of reminds me a bit of Michael Katsidis, the Toowoomba boxer. There was one very memorable fight back around 2008 against a pommy guy, just can't recall if the fight I'm thinking of was against Earl or Mitchell. Pretty sure it was Earl. On youtube, worth a look to see guys going toe to toe with no backwards steps, like Rios and Alvarado.

Looking forward to Juan Marquez (who pretty much ended Katsidis's career) against Manny Pacqio (spelling???). Didn't know they had come to terms on that fight.

Yeah it was against Earl with round two being an absolute pulsating round, I can see why you mentioned it. Katsidis was a very gutsy boxer with his style of boxing opponents on the inside & apart from his early professional fights being held here, he fought most of his bouts OS against the best fighters. I have seen him take some heavy punishment with his style of boxing & if boxing was decided on heart Katsidis would be undefeated. Darchinan? is another similar boxer to MK having the same style of boxing & power. He also fought the best boxers going around OS as well as never dodging an opponent like Katsidis.

The last round in the Martinez V Chavez JR was a thrilling end to the fight.

Whilst I'll watch pacman V Marquez 4 & it should be a good fight, I would of preferred to see him fight some one else. Obviously the much talked about grudge match between him & Mayweather won't eventuate IMO as i think that it would of happened by now if they both genuinely wanted to fight each other considering there's been talk of this fight for years now. but I hope pacman will take on Martinez in his next fight before Martinez retires.
