Balmain Ryde-Eastwood Tigers Vs Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs
Leichhardt Oval, Saturday, March 12
Kick-off: 7.30pm
Referee: Luke Phillips
Broadcast: NSWRL Match of the Round to be aired on Fox Sports 2 HD and Fox Sports 2, Wednesday, March 16, 4.30pm

**Summary:** What a cracking match this one promises to be with scintillating match ups right across the park. Mullaney V Cutler, Waters V Reynolds, Brown V Lett, Meaney V Romelo… the list goes on. The defending Premiers begin their quest for a three-peat and given the depth they appear to have in the club at present you would be a game man to tip against them.

The Bulldogs somehow appear to have gotten stronger in the off season with the recruitment of Lett, Wright and Millington. But the Tigers were also very strong in 2010 and only faltered late in the piece. The likes of Waters, Pearn and Daniela move across to the Tigers from Wests as Tim Sheens looks to keep his top players in close quarters while the recruitment of George Ndaira may also prove to be a master stroke.

**Game Breaker**: Junior Moors – In all honesty you could make a case for anyone of about 25 guys being our ‘Game Breaker’ here but Junior Moors always has a knack of being in the right place at the right time in attack and his impact with ball in hand is sure to keep the fringe Bulldog defenders honest and possibly create chances for his outside men.

**Prediction:** In all honesty I don’t mind who wins this as long as it lives up to the hype but for the record we are tipping the draw!

I will be happy with a draw, leaving soon to the Old Girl….will sent some updates

Bulldogs started well with a smooth polished try in the left corner by Michael Lett
After 5 mins , but the Tigers hit back after 3 minutes with a nice grubber by Mullaney to Jake Clake
Both teams missed their conversions…4 All
Good crowd here & a great atmosphere under the lights

Nice pass from Meaney to Daniella who slightly overran it and Latu couldn't get his pass into touch
BRET looking slick though and all over the Bulldogs now in the last 15 minutes

Starting to get a bit firey out there , with 20 minutes to go
Bulldogs 20-16
2 good sides fighting it out like a semi and it's only Round 1

Exciting passage of play where the Tigers nearly scored , dropped the ball & ninty metres & 1 minute later ,Cutler under the posts & misses the conversion …a win to Lolly legs
Bulldogs 24- -16 with 14 minutes to go

And with 30 seconds to go , Dene puts the icing on the cake off a get pass & and a Ellis like angled run
Cutler converts
Full-time 30-16

Bulldogs will probably be the side to beat once again, but hopefully BRET will continue to improve and become more fluid as a team as the season goes.

cutler's last year with wests magpies was good and i was disappointed when he went to the dogs. he has been good for the dogs ever since and still looks a good player. lollylegs had 8 points on the score board, including a missed conversion from infront

Just an update from my view having seen the full four games and sitting with a couple of blokes who do the footy odds for centerbet - For Balmain - Latu was solid, Brown showed touches that indicate he is a NRL player and not state cup, Daniella the same, Meaney had his moments but needs more time at 5/8\. Waters was average at halfback really didnt have much of an impact, Matt Ryan was the best of the forwards and really impressed. The rest of the pack were ok but not brilliant. The bulldogs had just a little too many class players although struggled in the halves. From the day overall and watching all 4 games -
-Player of the Day- Ben Rogers for Central Coast was a step above everyone
- Puna was the best for Wests and looks to have something if he was a little fitter,
-A couple of good performances for the Vulcans- the Halfback and a couple of their big forwards,
Whatuira was good for Wenty Reddy was average and didnt demand a return to first grade, in fact struggled to demand a full time spot in state cup.
Windsor- The Hooker Nafe was their best and Dayne Weston as he has for years showed some class
Central Coast - Really impressive with Rogers, mcDonnell and the centre Leuila the best
Bulldogs- That pack just has too much first grade talent for them to loose many games and Lett on the wing is an NRL class player - would have been a better signing then Utai and I like Utai
Manly - Liam Foran was lacklustre and thats being generous they were a bad side all around
