Bring back Steven Noyce !! Rooters sacked him to bring back

Steve Noyce is probably the best football administrators I have known. He would never have got WT into this unholy mess which gets worse every day.

Pile of crap.

He started the downhill slide with massive backloading on contracts.

Our current CEO is far from perfect but in terms of corporate support we are in a better position then ever. The last few years has been the first time i have not had to look up a jersey sponsor to see what the hell they do

SYDNEY Roosters chief executive Stephen Noyce has been sacked and former CEO Brian Canavan will return to the club.
A shattered Noyce said he was still coming to terms with his sacking, but accepted the club's decision to move in a new direction.

Noyce told The Daily Telegraph he was expecting to be a part of the Roosters' 2013 NRL campaign, having played an integral role in the appointment of new coach Trent Robinson.

“I have been here four years, it has been a privilege and an honour to be the CEO of a proud foundation club like the Roosters,” a clearly emotional Noyce said.

“I think there are exciting things installed for the club in 2013 and beyond with the playing roster that is available and the new coaches and other appointments that we have made.

“Obviously I was keen to be part of that. It is disappointing that that won’t happen but, you know, it has been a privilege and honour to be here.

“I loved the passion and the commitment of everyone at the club from the board to the sponsors to the members to the wonderful staff that I work with.”

After making the grand final in 2010, the Roosters have been plagued by poor on-field performances over the past two years as well as no shortage of off-field drama.

The club recently got rid of Brian Smith for new coach Robinson and Noyce said he totally accepts the club’s decision.

“Clearly the performances over the last couple of years (have played a part). Professional sport is about making semi-finals so we are all under that pressure. You accept that,” he said.

Noyce had been in the position since 2008 after replacing long-serving boss Canavan, who quit the Roosters following a 15-year association with the club.

The Roosters confirmed Canavan would be making a return in the redefined role of Chief Operating Officer Football, heading up the entire football operation. New coach Trent Robinson will be among those who report directly to him.

As part of the club restructure, Roosters general manager marketing Ted Helliar will now step into the roll of Chief Operating Officer Commercial, heading up the marketing, brand, membership and media aspects of the club.

Both Canavan and Helliar will report to Scott Bennetts, Group CEO of the Easts Group.

Noyce previously spent eight seasons at the Wests Tigers developing the merger club into a successful outfit that claimed the 2005 NRL premiership.

"Stephen is a hard-working man of great integrity and honour and his work over the past four years has set our club up to move forward in a very solid position," Roosters chairman Nick Politis said.

So you guys are angry about someone who re-appointed Tim Sheens and then sacked him to possibly put in a rookie coach? But you want to get a CEO who hired Brian Smith and sacked him and replaced him with a rookie coach?

All reports tell me he is a good Operations Manager and his history at the Tigers previously would indicate he is very capable of operating a business within its means… The platform he set at the Tigers was very good.

NRL Franchises are forever changing and the old school operators (football clubs) just dont seem to cut it... For the Tigers to move forward, we need a dynamic operator to take this Club & Brand to new levels and judging by what I saw at the Roosters, he is not that guy?!

Did Noyce sign Smith to an extension then 12 months later sack him, leaving the club in a giant financial hole, forcing them to have to pay their next coach peanuts?

Cant say securing Meriton was innovative work by our CEO…

Hyundai, Trend Micro though. Sure they are no Proton or Wokka

It also does not change the fact he massively back loaded contracts to the point Ryan O'Hara was still getting $$$ two years after he left.

Roosters are never in the hole when Uncle Nick bails out every bad decision they make.

We're suppose to have an uncle of our own aren't we? Apparently some millionaire supporter who supposedly backs us yet gives us nothing
Whose he again?

Wasn't he the guy that bailed when we weren't winning, citing bad management, but returned after Top 4 finishes?

About the sum of it. Wouldn't be surprised if he walks again since Sheens got the arse.

Goodbye Harry, good to see the back of you. You were a con like a lot of so-called do gooders within our club. Like the saying goes, a friend in need is a friend indeed.

stfu u dribbler people are able to put their money into a club when they see fit, he may not agree with the decision to release sheens. Why dont u and ur loyal mates start a pay out sheens fund? Put ur own money where ur mouth is before u start slagging off contributions of others.
