Brisbane cap rort

If Milford went back to the Raiders, where would he play and how would they afford him after getting Tedesco and it sounds like they will get Ennis for a $500,000 plus contract.

I reckon if these salary cap issues turn out to be anything at the Broncos we should make a play for Hoffman or Milford they would be ideal replacements for Tedesco!

Hoffman is awful please I do not want. Will cost too much and doesn't really do much well. There's a reason broncos are going after fullbacks. This would be an idiotic signing on every level.

Milford on the other hand if this is serious??? YES. Can then make a mid season trade with Canberra and move on.

The Broncos must have been seriously over the cap to get busted by the ineptitude of the auditors. The Roosters have been arrogantly rorting it for years now. They do it right under everyone's nose safe in the knowledge that none of the numptys will find out. On another note, how funny would it be if we signed Milford and Teddy flops down in Canberra?

Sounds like this is a big reason we ended up losing Tedesco. On channel 9 this morning Ben Fordham alleged that Milford was given a house and land package outside the cap by the Broncos. If Milford doesn't get offered these sort of thing then he probably stays at the Raiders and they don't go crazy paying overs for Tedesco.

NRL cap probe for Broncs: report
Ed Jackson, AAP
Updated May 27, 2014, 9:15 pm

The Broncos reportedly face an NRL investigation over salary cap irregularities.

The news came on an already tumultuous day for Brisbane which signalled the resignation of club stalwart Andrew Gee, ending a 25-year association with the club.

The NRL have begun an investigation after Brisbane last week alerted league bosses to a number of serious cap-related issues involving the club's recent recruitment activities, News Corp says.

"The Brisbane Broncos have advised the NRL of some possible salary cap irregularities and asked us to look at them which we will do," an NRL spokesman told The Courier-Mail website.

The probe will reportedly examine third-party agreements and the fact at least one-big name player is owed a six-figure sum. News Corp says the player in question is allegedly owed money by the Broncos in relation to third-party sponsorships.

There is no suggestion Gee is guilty of orchestrating a cap breach. Ex-Test and Queensland Origin prop Gee walked away from his role as general manager of football operations role on Tuesday. It came after he took leave from the club a fortnight ago to consider his future.

Supposedly according to another news article they have been over by 450 k a season for the past 3 seasons

let's hope so, i'd happily take hoffman and gillett off their hands

where can I get some money that nothing happens to the silvertails, Ill even take even money, they say that there's only to certainties in life taxes and death, well there's 3 taxes and death and no penalties for silvertails likes broncos, roosters..

I think this is a real test for the NRL. If the reports are correct on the amount being rorted they have to make an example of the Broncs. Anything less than stripping all points ala Melbourne will be seen as no more than a slap on the wrist and an open invitation for the rich clubs to up the ante.

For those saying this may lead to Milford being available, supposedly Raiders have said they will keep him and I quote

…"Despite signing star Tigers fullback James Tedesco, the Raiders would still have room under the salary cap to accommodate Milford next year. "
