I must say I will be going to the Olympics in Brisbane, I love the Olympics.

Summer games suck
Winter games are heaps better

I like both but some of the newer sports in the summer games are rubbish.

I won't slag off Brisbane for the Olympics - they are Aussies like the rest of us, they'll do a good job and the locals will get into it as it rolls around. The QLD pollies are a weird bunch but they'll hire people who know what they are doing.

I was 20 years old when Sydney hosted the Olympics, absolutely best time ever, the city at its peak and perhaps never to be topped. I'm surprised more athletes didn't seek asylum instead of going home, it was a like a fairytale - everyone happy, excessive public transport running on time, no cars on the road, kids on holidays, workplaces were relaxed, pubs and clubs were full to the brim, tourists everywhere, much beer and wine flowing. Also in those days - house prices weren't bananas, no pandemics, no social media, no Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon, no Brexit... good times.

Olympics isnt the big deal it used to be.

The next generation dont care anymore.

I think its become a financial burden on host cities

I enjoy watching it, not sure about anyone else

I would be surprised if single minute is watched in my family of 7.

If I still lived in Sydney I'd probably be all defensive as well because I wouldn't know any better.
But after living up here I can tell you that the only reason everyone in Sydney isn't moving to Brisbane is that they've never lived in Brisbane.
Sydney people, you have my condolences, I know how hard your lives are.
