I can't believe that one of the Penrith players copped a whack across the face by the first player in the tackle , then. copped another, exactly the same way by the second player into the tackle . Got up bleeding and was told to play the ball, not even a penalty.
I think it was Zelniac

Another fine example of referees who have lost the ability to use common sense, instead use a technical rule brainwashed into them that if the bunker does not deem it to be a reportable offense that they wash their hands of it. What is even sadder is Tony Archer actually thinks he and his team are doing a good job!

The whole referring system needs a major over haul, at present when it suits them they take the rules as black and white and than other times they tell you that you have to have a bit of give and take and their are shades of grey. In other words they can always justify any crap call they make

I know the game has gone professional blah blah blah, but this is why you should still be allowed to throw. Absolute joke that you can be kicked in the back and not have any recourse. Ryan James should have head hunted him for the rest of the night, we know he's got pictures of someone in the MRC.

Roberts found guilty at NRL judiciary. https://goo.gl/7aulxV.

Brisbane have been struck a blow ahead of Friday's semi-final against North Queensland with flyer James Roberts found guilty of contrary conduct at the NRL judiciary.

Roberts was found guilty on Wednesday night of a grade-one contrary conduct charge for striking at Gold Coast's Ryan Simpkins with his feet, rubbing the star centre out of his side's must-win finals clash with the Cowboys.

The 23-year-old was charged for striking at Simpkins as he lay in the ruck during the Broncos' 44-28 win over Gold Coast and will be replaced on Friday night by rookie Jonus Pearson.

I recall an incident earlier in the year in which a player had blood streaming down his face and he was down for a bit. They had time to look at the replays, and the result - "you're gonna have to play the ball."

The player said, "How else do ya think the blood got there? I've just been whacked across the face."

Blake Austin…

What annoys me even more than the act itself, is the fact that The Broncos club tried to defend the action, thereby suggesting to the general public that it's ok to act in this way on the field. This attitude beggars belief. This is an appalling message to send out. It's not as though it was an accidental incident. Their sole interest is in getting a blatantly guilty player off a charge so it doesn't affect their chances next game.

Absolutely. They love their double standards when it suits them do the Broncos. Like last year, after Wayne Bennett had been one of the most vocal and influential people to show abhorrance at spear tackles after Alex McKinnon's tragedy he insisted that there was nothing wrong with Justin Hodges' spear tackle in the prelim final and whined that he should be free to play the GF.
Had to laugh at the charge levelled at James Roberts- it was that he "struck at" the Titans player. To me that means he tried to hit him but missed. I would of thought a charge of "kicking a player in the back who was lying on the ground" would be more appropriate and closer to the truth.
I'm guessing Les Boyd "struck at" Daryl Brohman years ago too? What a crock.
