OFFICIAL Bryce Gibbs [Discussion]

If he starts front row for the Tigers, I'm picking him in my fantasy considering he makes so many tackles.

[Chris]

He certainly wouldnt look out of place in a blues jersey. Great thread!

[king_sirro]

The 2nd coming of Lazarus.

If he play's for NSW, he must start and play a lot of minutes.

[Balmain_Bug]

Australias best prop

[cunno]

No guys like Perry, white, kite, king, poore etc serve nsw much better…..

Gibbsy is fast approaching the ability of these blokes and will overtake them with age and experience.

[Balmain_Bug]

 nailed it Fergie…Dont forget tub of goo 12.5 mins of impact Weyman..

Agree 100% with Innk..Gibbs just pick him...

Definately see an ALL Wests front row for City minimum..

:master:
The Bug likes this . . .

No dude, Gibbsy blows these blokes off the planet.

[cunno]

I'm happy to agree with you Bug about Gibbsy he is a great asset to our pack.

I don't think he is quite up to state level, in saying that, it does not mean he would not be picked. Josh Perry proved this the past couple of series.

He is a very solid first grader, but just not quite up to state level. There are plenty of them in the NRL and they are priceless commodities.

[Cultured_Bogan]

I don't think he's suited to be a Blue, he has ticker and runs himself into the ground for his team.

He'd be out of place in the current Blues squad with all the glory hogging underachievers they have.

You are right. About time the Blues camp changed its approach and picked workers like Gibbs who will dig in and have a go for their state and worry less about the big lights and the glory, with a champion team instead of a team of supposed champions we might win and get some interest back into the series.

[Centaur]

Gibbs certainly wouldn't look out of place chopping the legs from the under the likes of Shillington, Thaiday and Civ.

Just off the blood typers wall -

[Tigersmurf]

No, I think he would truly love to be a Tiger for life!

I expect that it is likely to be true

[matty_tiepie]

I hope its true as he has been awesome of late and has really improved his discipline in the last 12 months.

I don't doubt that he would want to be at Concord for life either, but he still could be taking the mickey…

Wests Tigers prop Bryce Gibbs has today extended his contract with the Club until the end of the 2014 season.

Off contract at the end of the 2012 season, the new deal means the 26-year-old will be with the Club for a further two seasons.

Gibbs made his debut for Wests Tigers back in August 2003 against the Panthers and has played a total of 135 NRL games.

Gibbs is a product of the successful Wests Tigers Cubs program which was set up to create a pathway for talented youths into the senior squads. This has also included the likes of captain Robbie Farah, Liam Fulton and Chris Lawrence.

In 2002, Gibbs was a member of the premiership winning Wests Magpies SG Ball side coached by current assistant Wests Tigers coach, Peter Gentle. Fellow team mate, Liam Fulton was also part of this squad.

Gibbs was also a part of the successful Wests Tigers Premiership winning side in 2005.

“I wanted to stay with Wests Tigers and this new contract means I can be a Tiger for life,’’ Gibbs said.

“It’s a great Club to be a part of and I just hope I can contribute to the team’s success in the future.”

Wests Tigers Chief Executive Officer Stephen Humphreys said that the new contract for Gibbs was well deserved.

“Bryce has played his part in helping this developing team become more and more successful,’’ Humphreys said.

“Its extremely satisfying for the Club to see a product of our development system become an integral member of our NRL squad. I’m sure he has some exciting years to come.”
