Buchanan

That's a strange one as he was announced as leaving at the WT GF lunch. He's actually a very good NSW Cup player just lacks the leg speed needed in the big league. As others have said , a good depth signing

i like him.

think last year or the year before him and woods were going OK for their age at the start of the year. he's got potential and i feel like he'll deliver. he's what 22 or 23?

Not a bad depth re-signing. Buchanan killed in in the trials and Auckland 9's and looked like a new player in the preseason. Hopefully he's just a late bloomer and can develop his leg drive to add more to his game. He's a good reserve forward who will do a decent job if called upon, and he's a fairly solid defender.

We need depth in the front row so good move by WT to keep him on the books. Hopefully he is a late bloomer. We do not want to rush our young props into NRL and end up like BMM or Matt Goat. both appear to have had the careers ruined by being rushed in too early.

Props for 2016

Woods
Ava
Taupau
Sue
Buchanan

Graham for 2017

That's it though isn't it. He was rushed in well before he was ready - in 2014 - when we were ravaged by injury. And he did really well and has continued to considering his age. I think it is a very good decision to keep him around for next season. We'll see how he goes in 2016.

I thought we were cleaning out the dead wood.

Read the other thread titled "where are the forwards signings".

Not every player in every position can be a superstar.

When at St George he and Jake Stockwell were considered two of the most promising young forwards at that time. We need backup when injuries and SOO etc come around.

Might never be a superstar but he won't let the team down either. Good solid kid who could develop into a much stronger player with more time and experience. There's also the fact that he's a decent well behaved type of kid, unlike, say, Lodge
