Bulldogs Drama

I've heard from a very reliable source a week ago that Des won't be at doggies next year thought he was talking garbage but just read something today that a HUGE story about the dogs will break tomorrow could be anything apparently Mybe hasent agreed to his next contract cause he wants a "Hasler clause" this might push the idea of Brooks to dogs, apparently there's "drama" within the club

Idk take this how you want but something big is gonna happen tomorrow this bloke never lets me down with his rumours. I guess all we can do is wait

Rumours circulating that Warriors offered Hasler a massive deal but McFadden proved a point this week it's gonna be interesting to see what happens IMO

I heard part of your rumour about Hasler gone from the Dogs , but the story I heard was Souths not the Warriors

I mentioned a week or so ago about Souths being overtrained , well that's what it is being revolved around

Maguire supposedly has trained Souths into the ground both mentally and physically

I reckon the way Maguire is in general (super intense and hard working) would mean that he would have a limited time he could work with the same blokes before exhausting them.

Bit like Warren Ryan and Brian Smith, great initially, but short time frames with a club and time to move on.

Without know anything behind the scenes, I reckon your on the money with the over trained bit.

Haha that's the pot calling the kettle black.
Unca Wayne sounds better.

Isn't unca whine your nickname? It's all you ever do.

Unca Wayne *wahh*

Cam Smith *wahh*

Rorters *wahh*

NRL and it's conspiracies *wahh*

Pot and the kettle is apt.

As far as the 'NRL and its conspiracies' goes, I'm quite content to be a person who questions a dodgy organisation such as the NRL with their wishy washy rules and protocols and their reactive limp-wristed approach to people who don't abide by the rules of the competition. Better than being the gullible naive flog who thinks all is rosy in our sport and questions nothing.
Tip: don't bother waiting up to catch the tooth fairy from now on sunshine. Keep believin'.

The Mole reporting bulldog board members looking to oust Hasler because of a lack of results, makes us forum members who want Taylor gone look well justified.
Any how if we could cash in on the coach merry go round I would be very happy.

Not really. We're a young team on the way up. They're an established team. always being talked up as premiership heavyweights yet come up short every yr.

Don't tell me you're taking the Mole's word as gospel to suit your argument.

The NRL conspiracies is me I think Gunners

I don't trust them , I believe they manipulate results

One of my mates mentioned to me that he had been working with a lower grade bulldog player who had mentioned that some of the board members and players considered Dessie a retard, mainly because he couldn't look people in the eye when he talks to them and only ever rants and raves which wears thin on people after a while.

It is not just the mole reporting it, it is coming from quite a few sources, and I stand by my comment, if Dessie goes because of results, Taylor should have already been sacked. :astonished:

You didn't say a few sources, you claimed it was the mole.

And i'll stand by my comment. Different clubs have different expectations for where their club should be. The Dogs are at the complete opposite end of the spectrum.

Read through the entire thread and you can gather different sources, or just go to google, Mr Pedantic

I would hate to be the next team the dogs play :unamused: . They play their best when there is turmoil.

I think they will come good and at least be in the mix come finals time,Sutton will make a big difference and Inglis will have to pull his finger out, either take some time off to get fully fit or get motivated to really get involved. The Burgess twins are barely first grade level at the moment, not sure what Maguire can do without upsetting Mum & Sam.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Des. move on,unless they make the 4 it could be his last season.
I've heard there is a push to get him back at Manly which will probably cause more drama's as he lots of enemies within the Football Club from his last stint but i think Fulton still has some sort of a relationship with him..

Just flicked on to the Mole it says that the Storm just missed out on Tigers flyer JAC.

**Bulldogs want Des Hasler to stay on as coach until at least 2019**
May 5, 2016 8:28pm
Matt Logue and Dave Riccio
The Daily Telegraph

The Canterbury Bulldogs have hatched a plan to make Des Hasler one of the longest serving coaches in the club’s history.

Despite claims from Bulldogs legend Terry Lamb that Hasler doesn’t understand the club’s much revered culture, Canterbury CEO Raelene Castle is deep in negotiations to keep the 55-year-old at Belmore until the end the of 2019.

If Hasler, who is off contract at the end of next season, agrees to the new deal he will have spent eight years at the helm of the Dogs, one of the longest stints in the club’s 81-year history.

Steve Folkes is the club’s longest serving coach, having mentored the Dogs from 1998 until 2008.

**“We (Canterbury) have been in dialogue for a number of weeks with Des’ management about a contract extension,” Castle told The Daily Telegraph on Thursday.**

“Des has brought a significant level of professionalism to the Bulldogs and continues to demand success in line with our strategic plan.”

News of a contract extension at Canterbury comes after speculation the former premiership-winning mentor was under pressure and that some board members at the club had wanted contract talks to be placed on hold until they saw improvement and a greater focus on junior development.

**However, Castle said these suggestions were nothing but “rumour”.\
\
“That’s absolutely not correct,” she said.\
\
“I’m not sure where that has come from, but it’s not that’s not correct.\
\
“That’s gossip and we are at a stage where we are in dialogue with Hasler’s management around a contract extension.”**

Since joining the club in 2012 from Manly, Hasler has taken the club to two grand finals, in his first season and in 2014.

Suggestions that Hasler was under pressure have also been linked to the Bulldogs inconsistent form this season and a 5-4 record which sees them currently sitting in sixth position.

Hasler’s influence in ensuring the Bulldogs biggest names including David Klemmer, Moses Mbye and Josh Jackson is also a major factor in the club’s bid to retain Hasler’s services.

The Bulldogs face the Wests Tigers at ANZ Stadium next Sunday where Hasler will attempt to return Canterbury to the winner’s circle following their upset loss to Parramatta last weekend.

No one ever said you did tin-foil…

BUT ..it has been all over Social Media Rumour Mills that he was...based mainly on Terry Lamb stating that Dessie doesn't understand the Dogs Culture..which is a bit rich when you think back to his interview on Sterlo about his time at Wests Tigers where he also stated he didn't have support from those inside the Club..
