I'm after a new desktop. Don't want laptop or anything else.
Not for gaming just for net browsing, email etc etc.
Last comp I bought was thru Dell online, their website at the time (about 13 years ago) was very simple and easy to buy a tower /k'board/monitor package but now not so easy for this I.T. illiterate.
Any advice, websites etc appreciated.. Sydney area.

do you have a budget mate?

Probably no more than 1500 but I don't think I'd have to go that high going by the responses and what I've looked at already
Thanks everyone for the suggestions particularly @Geo aka Tunksy.

Ps what's SSD?

Yep i dont think personally you are going to need to spend anything over 1000

a SSD basically means you can open Programs much faster and smother

you could also look at these, they are really compact and a perfect workstation

Why a deskptop over a laptop? Wouldn't you want the conveniance of being able to check emails and browse anywhere in the house or take it on the go if needed?

As mentioned already, SSD is the way to go, 256GB minimum space, gives you some space to store photos, videos & programs.

If you are going with the desktop option, get yourself an All-in-One (clean presentation & less space).

Coz I'm an old fart and resistent to change... The portable option is attractive though.... Might get back to the Phillipines one day... Maybe

1000 bucks at the most if you aren't into gaming, etc.

I5 or AMD chipset will cover the needs comfortably.

8gb RAM

1TB HDD, or a 256gb solid state - wont make much difference for normal administrative tasks.

Good quality monitor that is easy on the eyes shouild work as well At that price.

You're asking for a Toyota corolla essentially. perfect
