the reason people hate smith is he is a lair and a cheat and gets away with it because of his status. its a shame people dont know the real reason he had to give up playing SOO, THEN PEOPLE MIGHT VIEW HIM IN A DIFFERENT LIGHT.

Everyone should brace for the day he’s running the game. Because will one day.

That will be the death of the NRL.

Why? He’s the smartest man in the game.

@GNR4LIFE Smartest? He has made a career out of bending the rules, pushing the limits, cheating, engaging in dubious tactics.

Smith has had premierships stripped for cheating, and he still doesn't recognise them as being lost. He was with the club when they were signing two contracts per player in a deliberate calculated attempt to sidestep the salary cap. They have introduced various tackling techniques which are now seen as illegal. the chicken wing, the grapple, all these wrestling techniques.

Storm has been at the centre of everything bad about the game in the last 20 years, and Smith has been their leader.

He probably will be running our game one day, and on that day we will unfortunately see that Greenburg was a pathetic pawn in the scheme of things, and Smith will take this comp to a new level of bias, favouritism, partiality and corruption. On that day, WT should tremble.

Just look at his behaviour with McKinnon. Deplorable and unforgivable.

All the reasons you listed is why HE IS the smartest.

You’re going to have to be more specific?

Standing over McKinnon arguing with the ref about the severity of the tackle in total disregard to what just happened while McKinnon was laying on the ground paralysed, screaming. IMO Smith is a pathetic excuse of a human being.

@diedpretty I think people haven't forgotten the salary cap scandal. I also think they haven't forgotten the premierships stripped from them. Move on.

@mike What a load of rubbish. You're making out Smith knew the severity of the injury. Wake up to yourself.

Wake up to yourself. Look at the incident. They knew. McKinnon was screaming on the ground. You would have to be an absolute imbecile not to know it was serious. Smith could have done a number of things. Console McKinnon and let him know help was on its way. Walk away like he was told several times by the ref. Instead he wanted stand over McKinnon and argue with the ref about the severity of the tackle. A total lack of judgement and empathy from Smith. An absolute grub.

No one knew the severity. But if it helps you hate him even more, go for it. Funny how McKinnon was the one who apolgised to Smith after the 60 Minutes hit job.

They may not have known exactly how serious it was, ie paralysed, but with a guy was lying on the ground screaming. SCREAMING. It was serious. Just a pathetic, uncaring reaction from Smith.

And just a side note, I’ve always thought it a little disprespctful that you’d have Rowdy’s mangulated face as your DP.
