Can someone please answer my Q Re Forum Points

I posted the question below in the Forum Reputation Points thread a few weeks ago, but didn't get any response. So, I was just wondering if one of the mods, or whoever, could give me an answer because it has happened to me again tonight, and this time I don't think I've ever given points to this user before.

"Hey, just a quick question. I tried to give rep points to a positive post tonight and a window came up saying "**you must spread your reputation points to other users before giving to the same user**". I have only given points to this particular user one other time and it was over a week ago, whereas I have seen some people give points to the same users several times over. Can someone tell me what's going on here?"

Many thanks

No worries, guys and girls. Watto pm'd me earlier and said Kaiser would probably address the problem when he is next online - hopefully he has a solution! As a matter of interest, has anyone else encountered this problem?

PS Thanks for all those rep points, Ink!

I know Alien hasnt, he's neg repped me _only_ 13 times

It's just a matter of keeping users from constantly giving the same individual points. Just as there is the time restraint. It doesn't make sense this feature would be occurring improperly for only one person, although can you please note the user you tried to give the points to and the also send me a screengrab of the error next time it occurs.

Apologies for the late reply… got married.... that kinda took precedence haha

***EDIT*** Congratulations on your nuptials mate!

What about the instance where a mod neg-repped a poster regarding an ebay post twice in 60 seconds?

http://www.weststigersforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=10280 - if you check out [batboys](http://www.weststigersforum.com/forum/viewreputation.php?id=1452) rep - you can see he copped it twice in 60 seconds.

I understands mods/admins have increased freedom etc in the forums, but TBH this just looked like the case of someone being a very small man by doing it, and by not even posting in the actual thread itself to give any clue/reason why -

you have to admit, despite being a forum and everyone not having to agree, that kind of stuff is not cool.

Aha! I think we can forgive you for that - just  Congratulations! Hope it all went well.

With regards to the rep problem I've been having, the first user was GNR4LIFE - tried to give rep points on 12 Sept when this thing first came up. I had only given rep points to GNR one other time on 4 Sept. The second time it occured was the other night, just before I posted my question on here - the user was Batboy and, as far as I'm aware, I hadn't given him any rep points at all, previously. I'm not one to just give out rep points to the same users, over and over, for the sake of it, so I don't know why this keeps happening to me. If it happens again I will endeavour to send you a screengrab, as you requested (whatever that is LOL).

Thanks for all your help

Admins and Mods are NOT exempt from these rules, even my account has the same level of permissions as a registered users. **This was most likely a bug.**

The original problem I was having has been ok since I started this thread, however, it reared it's ugly head again today. Funnily enough, it was when I tried to give you some rep points, Kaiser, for your great post in the 'Update on Lui' thread. A page comes up saying exactly the same thing as before **"you must spread your reputation points to other users before giving to the same user".** then the page automatically goes back to where I was in the original thread.

I'm sorry I have no idea how to get a 'screen grab' of that when it comes up, particularly as there is limited time before it goes away, but there is really nothing else on the page apart from these words. The page looks exactly the same as when you get the thing saying "you can't give reputation points so soon after you last one" which I'm sure most of us have seen at some stage. Surely there is someone else experiencing this difficulty besides me. It's a bit annoying, especially when I want give rep points to good posts but can't and, if I don't do it at the time, I often forget which post it was the next day or later - short term memory loss 😕 Anyway, at least it doesn't happen too often, something to be thankful for, I guess, but I rather it didn't happen at all.

Since you were trying to give me some points, I looked into it a little more detail
Seems like there was a slight bug in what was restricting users from not 'spreading' rep. There are two fixes I can see, but let me know if it works now… if not, I will try solution two.

Hahaha! A vested interest eh? Well, whatever you did, it worked and you got your points  Hopefully, that will be the last of it, but I'll let you know if it happens again. Thanks Kaiser.

I think we need an official inquiry into this corruption :astonished:
Once Schubert finishes with the Moltzen "DOOLs' story he'll be on this story next guys
Like grains through an hourglass this is the "Days of Tim's Live" Cue Music

LOL, yeah I'm up for an official enquiry, especially now that the Moltzen saga is over. Didn't last quite as long as Days of Our Lives, but nearly
