Can we sign anyone with our salary cap mess?

We can't sign anyone good for 2020. One of the Manly hookers is likely available (Korisau or Fainu), though I doubt we can afford either of them. Rhyse Martin is good, but I doubt he fits Madge's style of player. Dylan Walker available. Harry Grant (hooker) from Melbourne (yet to play first grade) is rated as one of the best young hookers in the country.

Our only chance is to aggressively recruit other clubs' best juniors and wait for 2021.

On November 1 2019, the following (decent) players will become available for 2021 (assuming they don't get re-signed by their current club, which 90% of them will):
* Brisbane: David Fifita, Thomas Flegler, Matthew Lodge, Kotoni Staggs
* Bulldogs: Aiden Tolman
* Canberra: Nick Cotric, Corey Horsburgh, Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, Elliott Whitehead, Jack Wighton
* Cronulla: Briton Nikora, Chad Townsend
* Gold Coast: Jai Arrow, AJ Brimson, Tyrone Roberts
* Manly: Martin Taupau, Jake & Tom Trbojevic
* Melbourne: Jesse and Kenny Bromwich, Tui Kamikamica, Ryan Papenhuyzen, Suliasi Vunivalu
* New Zealand: Blake Green, Patrick Herbert, Isaiah Papali'i, Nathaniel Roache
* North Queensland: John Asiata, Jordan McLean
* Parramatta: Dylan Brown, Nathan Brown, Shaun Lane, Reed Mahoney, Maika Sivo
* Penrith: James Maloney, James Tamou
* South Sydney: Cody Walker
* St George: Euan Aitken, Jack de Belin, Zac Lomax, Mikaele Ravalawa
* Sydney: Nat Butcher, Joseph Manu, Latrell Mitchell, Siosiua Taukeiaho

There really is no light at the end of the tunnel. Likely situation by then is Michael Maguire has given up and we have another new coach.

Same cycle we have been in for the last X amount of years.

I can’t buy into the argument that we are near the cap limit or that we can’t afford to sign players.
Top clubs employ a mix of creative accounting, TPAs and other deceptive practices which go into ensuring continual class signings, while the other clubs are held to this imaginary cap and actually abide by it.
There are professional clubs who are hell bent on success and there are mug clubs - like us.
Time to change, ie, if we want to win.

If it were me I’d park the argument of new signings and I’d be looking to employ or replace management/recruitment/sponsorship teams with current or ex roosters, broncos and storm execs. Get their heads together on a new and thrilling project; to transform Wests Tigers.

I'd settle for singing a CEO who has previously held that position elsewhere in the NRL. Pascoe, his successor and Humphries were all newbies and it has shown.

I remember way back when Marina Go told us all that we had a fair wait until we could bring anyone on board player wise. She said no signings until 2017 season. Pretty sure that was when JT took over. So the end of 2014, start of 2015. Now here we are in 2019 & we seem to be still unable sign anyone of real substance. Meanwhile, the blokes we do have are going backwards. This could get really ugly for the next few years. It's freaking amazing that our club after all it's overhauling of staff are still in such a situation. I feel so sorry for the young kids I see at games in their tigers face paint waving their flags. We all know full well there's going to be a lot of tears for a long while. I'm kind of at a loss. How can this loser mentality run so deep within the club? Who is going to drag is out of it? Madge has really got his work cut out. I'll always support the coach. The players need a bloody wake up call. Bugger it, let's go down swinging and play our own young blokes.

Because antibiotics only work against bacteria. Colds are viruses which antibiotics are useless against.

At this stage we can't sign anyone unless he is a nobody. The situation may change if we clear the deceivers from our current team.

@Newtown
We were in the market for DWZ, we lost, now it's sour grapes for everyone suddenly crying that we don't have money for anyone.
Yeah Nah.

Well we certainly got that nobody.
