Can we trust this team and coach going forward?

I wrote this on another thread but perhaps the only positive to come out of this abysmal performance is that JT might be sacked at years end. Wasn't his contract for next year dependent on us making the 8?
Kidwell is gone for 2017 too. A new defensive coach that has a clue may make a world of difference.
Farah will also hopefully be gone which may improve locker room morale.
I'm hoping these things make a massive difference. We have to hope.

Taylor will be here next season. People need to stop goin around in circles about this.

….and next season will be with all the "transitional" issues done and dusted. He will be judged on where the team finishes on the ladder next season.

I'm a Farah fan but let's not forget he played in both the heartbreaking loss to the Storm and in the thumping we got from the Raiders. If Robbie played last night it would not have made any difference to the result.

Anyone who thinks this is solely on the coach, and that we have a good roster, is kidding themselves.

Anyone who says we have a dud roster is kidding themselves. We have talent all over the park.

We have quality players in Tedesco, Woods and Robbie. We have some great workers in ET, Grant, Ava, Sue etc. We have Moses who is looking more and more like he will be at the level of Tedesco and Woods. Brooks is another up and coming player. We have speed and skill to burn out wide in Simona, Nofo and Naiqama.

Rankin is the only player I can think of who really struggles as a first grader.

It's also definitely not solely the coach but the coach has been a big problem. I do think that JT could actually be a good coach if he would just play Robbie and left the crazy contract that Robbie got paid for someone else to handle. I also think JT has learnt from his stupid Taylorball game plans that didn't work. So the coach isn't really that big a problem to me at this point in time.

I think if we get lucky with the injury gods and we recruit smartly for next season we can have a really good year next year.

I think that sugar coats is somewhat. We have some workers their stats look good, but do they bend the line, ensure a quick play the ball and get us on the front foot? They work, but there is not a dynamic player in the pack at all. I am not sold on Sue, he seems to play in 15 minute blocks, misses tackles regularly and gets caught laying in the ruck a lot as he doesn't dominate the tackles he makes. I think he would be a good player to bring spark off the bench, but as a starting forward…..

Tedesco is all class, Moses looks to be improving, but is not yet consistent or proven. Brooks' defence is terrible.

I am a fan of Nofo & Simona, Kev is flashy & combined with Nofo & Moses, there is a massive defensive liability on that side of the field.

It depends on what transitional issues you are talking about - we have some very important players to 're-sign next year and or replace he will be a huge factor in that You want to be hoping JT is worth persisting with or next year could be equally as controversial.

Next season is a huge season for the club. If we fail to perform you have Tedesco, Woods, Moses and Brooks free to look elsewhere. If this happens whoever the coach is beyond that point will have plenty of cap space to work with to build the side they want, however it will be back to stage 1, a complete rebuild and probably a couple of years of looking like the knights this year

Another piss weak performance when the season is on the line? Colour me shocked.

Just like 2012, 2007 and countless other years.

No matter the coaching staff or players, this club is just built on a losing culture. A culture of mediocrity.

Spot on, you can't hide from the truth.

Rotating a 1/3 of the team to accomodate a hooker needs to go….it doesn't work JT so stop it

Its not ideal but I really havent seen this as a major detrimental factor since its begun…there are bigger issues

Exactly. I can understand the point in that Robbie's contract is crazy but it's over next year. The way this is being handled is making things worse.

Yes he is. Farah leaves, ET re-signed, Liddle into top 25\. Other than multiple long term injuries, there would be no excuse not that make the 8.

It's been a better year for us than 2015 though that is admittedly not saying much. Moses has improved a lot and Brooks has looked good in patches. Teddy has been brilliant all year. Whilst we are most likely done for 2016, and if it's any consolation, we have some distinguished company in the Mad Monday Lounge-Bunnies, Rorters and Manly! No reason we can't make the top 8 in 2017\. Taylor has a year to go on his deal. Can't see the club cutting it short unless Bellamy or maybe Bennie suddenly decide they'd like to coach us. Very pleased both our NSW Cup and U20's look finals bound as well!

The fact that almost across the ground last night, we were pathetic.
Gary, I want this team to win as much as anyone does, but I' have ( and most of us have)
Seen all these hope raisers many times before. We almost always return to our normal ways.
Farah leaving , if it happens, won't put us magically into a whole new stratosphere, we aren't saving that much.
ET is already here and while he was great tn the first couple of games, has come back to the field a bit since.
Either way , there's no saying that he won't be somewhere else next year
Liddle's unproven and young.

We need a couple of class backrowers, possibly 2first grade centres who can also tackle and a good quality replacement for Tedesco if he away for Reps, or injured. A much bigger problem next year than it has been
And we need a Coach who thinks that winning is the pinnacle, and doesn't rearrange half the team to cover for senselessly dropping one of our best players.

Yes we have plenty of talent, no argument. But what about grit, calm-headedness, toughness, situational awareness, tenacity, the ability to dig deep?

Talent is great at training, the odd flashy try, or when we have a huge weight of possession.

Talent wins you 40% of games each year. It does diddly-squat in tight games, when the season is on the line.

Who truly in our team would you throw the ball with confidence, with a minute left on the clock and the season on the line? Tedesco for sure. Woods would do something good with it. Moses is maybe 50% chance of taking a good option.

The rest of them are near useless, and therein lies our problem. All of them are talented on their day, they are professional first-graders, but nearly none of them play at a high level week in and out.

Talent wins you games. It wins you the comp. Our squad is more than decent.

We just got rolled against Penrith. It's happened to probably every team in the comp this year.
