Well they are at it again Haven't done anything wrong this time but broke a two week alcohol ban brought on by the club . You would have to think that Carney will be stood down for the rest of the season . Am checking it out with my Roosters source as we speak

Topic moved.

This was in the Daily Telegraph today and made well known in the Anasta story. It was referred to as a "celebratory bender" after they pipped the Bulldogs.

Roosters trio facing disciplinary action

Sydney Roosters trio Todd Carney, Nate Myles and Frank-Paul Nuuausala will face the NRL club's disciplinary committee on Wednesday after breaking the team's alcohol ban.

The Roosters confirmed the players had been out at two Sydney drinking establishments on Monday night, just a week after the squad had pledged to avoid alcohol for a two-week period.

The commitment to stay off the drink is believed to be motivated by a determination to curb the club's deteriorating off-field behaviour.

It was reported that a cab driver phoned the Roosters to say he had driven the players between two Sydney bars about 2am (AEST) on Tuesday.

Investigations by the club have so far found no evidence of any anti-social conduct.

The meeting could have huge ramifications for Carney, who is a serial offender in relation to alcohol-fuelled indiscretions.

The reigning Dally M medallist was thought to be on his last chance after being stood down by the club earlier this year following a drinking session with then teammate Anthony Watts.

Do these blokes not see how good they have got it? I would love to earn the money they do playing footy for a living. How hard is it to stay off the piss for 2 weeks? Carney is a bonehead

If the cabbie reported then for no reason he's a dog, but perhaps they were abusing him after a skinful in which case that's just cause.

Its Carney he deserves everything he gets He has had too many chances and the football public have had to tolerate too much of his crap already .
He doesn't respect the game ,the fans his club or more importantly himself and his family by doing this . And for that he deserves to pay the ultimate price
Exiled from NRL
When is the NRL going to finally stand up to one of its stars and say "Enough is Enough"

Agreed, Happy. Contempt is the word that comes to mind …contempt for the game, the fans, his employer ...

Gallop will be all over this…. Judging by the article on NRL, it looks like they will only get a week of being stood down. Gallop looked frustrated with the Roosters in how they managed the last incident, so it will be interesting to see if he is prepared to take on Politis if he does nothing again???

Politis has zero pull now, Gallop can finally stand over the beggar and force him to pull that rabble into line. Not a moment too soon either, Politis and the Roosters are a cancer on the game…

I'm not a big Carney fan at all, but look at it like this, he's had 2 alcohol related non-incidents this year (since his DUI), where people have dobbed him in for drinking despite not doing anything wrong (apart from the drinking itself). How many other times has he gone out drinking and not been caught this year? Is it at all possible that the guy has FINALLY learnt how to go out, have some drinks and not go overboard or do anything stupid?

Granted they broke club rules, but beyond that again there is hardly an issue here, fine them, stand them down for a week or so I guess, and move on.

what a s*** cab driver!

no need to shoot the messenger, Carney just doesn't get it. Had the world at his feet and continues to throw it away.

Shoot the messenger? Unless they did something wrong in the taxi the cab driver is a dog. They give him business, pay him and everything and he repays them by dobbing them into their employers. If there is something else to the story I guess he's okay.

That a bit like saying if he blows .05 next time when he is done for DUI we should show him leniency because he is improving .

His problems were not the fact he drinks, it was the fact that he can't control himself on the drink, and breaks the law when he does. If he gets caugt drink driving (even very low range) or breaking any other laws, it should (and probably will) be curtains on his NRL career. That said the fact he's practically playing chicken with the Roosters (no pun intended) says a lot about his intelligence.

I don't see why Carney is being grilled for a minor club breach. I thought he should have been sacked for the DUI conviction because that makes him a danger to society.

Like I said, unless they were giving the cabbie a hard time, he's a dog.
