Rejuvenated Sydney Roosters playmaker Todd Carney was lucky not to suffer serious injuries as a result of falling from a balcony on Monday.

Sportsnewsfirst reported the 24-year-old tried to recover some keys before falling from the balcony of his residence in Coogee.

Roosters CEO Steve Noyce was in no doubt that Carney would be right to come back to training in January.

"I'd say the only thing that was hurt is his pride," Noyce said.

Carney had a remarkable return to the NRL in 2010, winning the RLIF International Player of the Year award along with the Dally M Medal.

Anyone else find it hillarius?

A similar fall almost killed Aaron Cannings many years ago so Todd is lucky!

Good to see he is off the wagon though - so his luck is due to run out!!!

Agreed CB - Cannings had a compact skull fracture and bleeding on the brain!

But it only ever happens after a big night on the turps!

Thats usually true, I hope he doesn't fall into old habits, he was in peak form last year, shame to see him ruin it.
