It wouldn't have taken Richardson long to work out he was walking a tightrope - he was never going to be the yes man.
More than likely took liberties to get things done because he had a short time frame and bringing the board into the decision making process may have hindered his ability to get the outcomes that he thought were best for the club. He might of pissed off the board but in terms of satisfying the fans he did a pretty good job for such a short tenure.
