I don't get the outcry. People called for Taylor's head for pretty much his entire tenure and he finally gets punted and people still aten't satisfied

Quite ironic isn't it! In any event, I hope we get the right coach, but more importantly, sign the right players for next season. If we aren't on the lookout for a couple of centres and backrowers right now, we're in trouble.

So true. We cannot even be remotely competitive with the roster we have now. We need to be aggressively going after some quality forwards and centres asap. Cleary will go along way in attracting some quality players. But if we don't get out there now and start making deals we'll be left with the scraps that no one else wants, just like we always have (barring a few exceptions such as ET).

If only we could raise the bar in regards to paying players what they are actually worth. Raise the bar in regards to chasing top-notch talent instead of no hopers. Raise the bar in regards to playing consistent, committed footy every week.
Playing snakes and ladders with coaches every couple of years isn't raising the bar, pick one and stick with the bastards for a little while instead of going back to square 1.
Keep this crap up and the only bar we as supporters will be worrying about is the one we will be sitting at drowning our sorrows reminiscing about 2005 when we actually had a good club on and off field.

If only we weren't still paying players' salaries that are no longer at the club (Farah, Sironen ).
If only we weren't paying massive overs for plodders who are no longer NRL standard (Lawrence, Rankin, Ballin, Naqama).
Does anyone know if we're still paying Simona or do all his payments cease straight away when he was deregistered?

Massive overs for Rankin and Ballin? Lol

Good thing all you complained about ends next year and we have a clean slate

This season reminds me if a cyclone heading our way and we don't know until it's over how we will fend. Baton down the hatches we may be in for a rough ride.

If our lower grades don't have real talent do we have feelers out in the countryside and Island nations?

Pascoe is not defending anything facts are facts cannot argue , the club has turned around and travelling well ATM ,most wanted Taylor gone DONE get over it, many live under a rock maybe look at the big picture ,open our eyes and maybe one could see the reality of what is happening .This is a turning point for the club rejoice ,it is astounding the negativity and the way the media has infiltrated the minds of many and whom have become the servants of the same!

Yet the glaring omission from his statement is what are we doing in the players market? I see all sort of player movements but we make a play for none. We sit on our hands while we wait for Woods and gang to see who our coach is. Pathetic.

What was the point of moving Farah on if we aren't looking to sign people with his money freed up.
May look rosie to you but it's all just much of the same.
Time is ticking.

Big picture we all know the club has a war chest for next season ,maybe just maybe finally there might be some method in the madness!

Won't be any good players left by then. Now is the time.
Bird is ripe for the picking. Why don't we ever make plays for these calibre players?
It's so frustrating. I'm not excited at all by our halves.

Matchball I get your passion but I think you are stating things as facts that aren't actual facts. You probably don't know bird's state of mind, nor do you put forward a solution for 2017 that is practical or legal under the salary cap.

The club has to do something about this year because so many of us feel frustrated, same as you. They can't go and recruit a new squad for rnd 4 onwards, they can't promote ordinary state cup players to the top 25 (even if they didn't suck, you can't just do that under NRL rules).

They had one trigger available to them, change coach. They had to pull that trigger or answer questions everytime we lost consecutive games for the rest of the year, which would be untenable.

Again I understand your feelings of frustration and agree with you about a couple of guys in our squad. But try to remember the club can only ever make a decision based on the current situation. They can only play the cards they hold, not the cards they wished they did.

Change is a slow process, but we have a good enough team to not come last and despite all the off field progress, the CEO has to worry about on-field realities too. If the team don't fulfill their potential there is no indication from the club that we will try to keep any of the off contract gits. Don't panic about this. If we all know that there isn't a big 4, i can guarantee you the board and football department know too.

The Club has to retain 2-3/4 to keep the fans happy and if that meant unhinging poor Jason then so be it, he can for a nice relaxing holiday instead or get double pay by working elsewhere as not under salary cap.

These top players now something to look forward to in 2018, that is what Woods was after, but would not surprise me if he jumps ship to a GF capable team, that is what he wants and Robbie has one so why can't he also.

Providing the boys perform solidly and get one win out of three or 40% whilst improving their technique etc. then that is all we can expect this year.

Yes, very mature.

Seriously though, i don't get why you are so upset. Just about everything you said ends this year.

I know you are only a casual observer and all but if you think Souff's have a team capable of winning the GF you should observe a bit more closely…I take it you missed last nights game as I've noticed the lack of your normal thread about how great Robbie was...

I was not thinking of Souff"s at all but RF's first GF with WT. I read how Aaron stated he wants to win one as well. I could only see the first half of the game last night and thought he played quite okay. The tries scored against his team were out wide so no lapse on his part. They were unlucky with the grubbers and lost control carelessly. They reminded me of the Tigers actually letting easy tries in. I was suspicious those tries may have been deliberately let in. I thought I would let the board off and not create a thread as nothing special but the Roosters ran very well right across the field.
