CH9 - FootyShow - Still Rubbish

I dont understand how this keeps coming back each year.

I had the show on while I worked on my SuperCoach and DreamTeam entries and found my self flipping between this and watching Grand Designs on the ABC.

Vautin knows nothing about the show / its offerings and appears as though he just flies in reads the auto cue and goes home. His interview with Hasler was unprofessional and reeked.

These hosts are laughing at Channel 9 management and the Footballing fans in their " look at me get paid for doing nothing attitude in presenting the show".

The only redeeming feature as Ray Warren.

I banned the show in my house for a few years and may have to go that way again despite Benji and Beau being regulars.Beau Ryan can be funny, but wasn't yesterday.

It's not just me - Ratings have been very low over the last few years and understandably so.

PS - Logie Awards mean nothing and can be influenced.

I thought they Footy show was going to be revamped in 2011???..what I saw was some ole same ole...Beau Ryans segment was not at all funny...Fatty is the worst host in the world....he thinks he's funny when he babbles on like he doesn't know whats going on but it's "old and tired" and only shows how unprofessional he really is in TV....with so much competition from the other channels one would think CH9 would've gotten their act together with the Foopty show for 2011...but it seems we have to sit through the same old trash for the next 26 weeks!...unless Fatty picks up his game...would CH9 have the guts to axe the show??...probably not!
 
Gee guys, take it easy - it's just light entertainment.

I like you was on the internet while watching it, it's good for a couple of laughs in the bachground.

I'd rather listen to Fatty than Daley.
 
they are well and truly rolling down that hill…..fast!

It offers nothing.....comedy? footy info?

I would rather get some sleep and listen to the radio team on saturday 2GB!

they too offer nothing...footy wise until game time (5.30pm) but at least Broman & Blocker speak crap all day...and that s#!t cracks me up!
 
Hi everyone

I gave it up years ago too - but I love watching Beau (no matter what) so I tape it and fast forward the rest of the show!!..

Maybe I should wait for it to appear on YouTube…

Channel nine won't axe the show because as the FTA rights holder to screen the NRL, it would be expected they have a show to promote the game also. It would just be nice if they went from a entertainment style show to a more no-nonsense NRL Tactics show. You see a 5-10 minute wrap up of the teams and predictions and no actual sensible analysis on the games.

Beau and Chris' sketch was horrible and the only bloke that wanted to talk footy was Rabs. I'll be giving it a miss again this year. Admittedly, the only time the Footy Show has been any good in the last five years is when Gus rears his ugly head because he is the only one to talk analytical footy (when he isn't ranting against the NRL & NSWRL administrations of course.)

Does anyone know when Sticky's show kicks off?
 
You guys know it's not compulsory to watch the show right? The Sunday Footy Show seems to offer pretty good analysis but I do take CB's criticism that it could skew a little more to football talk but having said that a stack of people are probably interested in league from watching the show who wouldn't have bothered if it was more serious and technical.
 
Yeah only enjoy when vossy does round the grounds occasionally anti ad need sterlo back as atleast he provides intelligent football analysis likewise with Gus Don't necesaarily like the guy but he knows his footy and anyone who loves Leichardt Oval and Sauce as much as my daughter does can't be that bad

Of course it's not compulsory viewing Yoss, and I only ever switch on for the first show of the year to see if they have made a change in the structure of the show, and just as last night, this was not the case. Unfortunately I don't think the show will ever undergo a serious overhaul which is a shame because it was a good show about 10-15 years ago.
 
Not Compulsory to watch I agree, However this rabble is a custodian of a game that we are passionate about and are staving for good free to air analysis. If I wanna laugh I'll watch the Simpsons.

They are not being good stewards.

Vautin is a blemish and this show is a blight.

The same for 2GB - They talk crap all day. The only reasons these to shows get any patronage is because there is no real competition in their time slots. (That's another Thread)…

Yeah agree but they never bring back some of the characters from past ie Mahatma Cote , Matty Johns flight steward (can't think of name ) or even Reggie Reagan which made the show funny Losing Matty Johns was big loss

Was good for a chuckle at first, but it grew pretty tiresome after about two or three seasons of it.

Anyway, back to NRL Tactics and NRL on Fox for me… I feel for those who don't have/want Foxtel and are lacking of a decent show though...

For mine you shouldn't have to wait until Sunday morning after half the round has been completed to watch an in-depth look at the games on channel nine.
 
I can't comment too much on last nights show other than the new set looked good and I fell asleep 10 minutes in

And I forgot I reckon Heighington is funnier than Beau when they are together He just looks funny (in a comedic way)
 
I still like the show, particularly the big marrrn. It's probably not quite what it was 10 years ago but I still enjoy it.
It does trail off after about 10.30pm but imo, I reckon there is more footy content on it then ever before.
They could do with a few tweaks, it is funny at times but it also tends to have the odd shocker of a sketch ie Brohman 'interviewing' Slash.
I think if they had Rabbits on there more often, the show would have close to the right mix.
