Last year was the first time I had watched the show in years, I thought it had improved. First ep appeared to be similar to last year. It's okay, light entertainment, the real footy show is on Sunday.

One last chance this week - Even with Benji as a guest host they are very close to loosing me for life.
Wow I dug up this Thread and It seems nothing has changed in a Year.
A few new faces but the same Garbage, Only redeeming factor last night was Michael Slater.
Benji, I cant speak highly of you But last night you input was crap and like the whole thing was a joke. This will erode the great name and standing you have in the Game.
Vautin and Brohman are not funny.
If thats the best that they have to offer, then I wont be missing much when I side step this in thursdays to come

I reckon it is worse They are trying to be different but they are heading in the wrong direction imo
the show is rubbish, but i watch it anyway.
Id rather a good show about football, but while blokes like me who altho think the show is rubbish watch it, it will keep running.
I liked the sin bin, perfect partners and man vs fan. And enjoy seeing the players personalities. I think Beau is funny at times, last night he was good.
Fatty is a disgrace, Brohman has a few moments and the structure of the show is a disgrace, they are now presenting this whole image of we make it up as we go, but are doing it poorly.

What really annoys me about the Footy Show is how unprofessional Paul Vautin is. If I was the producer of the show or even someone higher ranked at Channel 9, I'd be cringing with some of the stuff he does. It reeks of immaturity and IMO damages the 9 brand.
Brohman is a useless boofhead who adds nothing to the show. His segment with the kids was so dull and boring.

Didnt watch it…..after the season opener it was always going to fall flat
I normally stick up for the footy show, but really the show is losing me.
It's good for some light entertainment but really they need to stop asking the same questions to the same players who give the same answers over and over.
They have really lost it since they started contracting players to the show, now if they need a player to come in for some questions, they bring in one of their paid players to come in. Last year we kept getting Billy Slater, Sam Thaiday, Darren Lockyer, and Jonathan Thurston on the show over and over.
Also some segments like 5 in the bin, how about 20 in the bin at least?
And I think Beau is a classic example of what they seem to do when they find someone or something funny. They have a good moment or two and suddenly theyre on every week.
They had Robbo, he was funny, so they had him on all the time. Ash and Lutz, they had one or two good moments and suddenly they were on all the time. Now with Beau he had some good segments, but maybe he should be on fortnightly instead of weekly so he has more time to make some better skits.

I'll watch it if I can, but won't get too upset if I miss it. I won't bother IQing it like I will with other RL programs. If it wishes to get back to it's old form it is desperately in need of new blood. I have never been much of a Vautin fan and I still don't understand how someone can do something for so long and still be completely hopeless at it (as he does with hosting).

I don't think both one hd shows have been axed. I think NRL Gameplan will be back, they differences in the NRL and AFL starting dates has lead to it not being on yet.

Looked again I blieve NRL Gameplan is back on One HD March 8th 8.30-10.30pm. It showed potential last year hope they improve this year.

I honestly didn't think the show could get worse, but it seemed awfully flat
I thought the show was the best in years, I fell asleep about 10 minutes in :unamused: have been getting up early and the show didn't keep me awake. Channel 9 need to introduce a new host to add some interest. If they feel the need to keep him aboard then give him a much lesser role like interviewing players on scene at training etc. Focus a bit more on what is happening at the clubs each week and spend a bit more time on major game issues with reports on what the Commission is up to and whatever else is topical at the time.

Can someone explain why Sam Kekovich is in the ad for the show and then doesn't appear
I don't know why everyone on here smashed into Vautin. He has been the only one to have natural comedic timing. As for Vautin and the autocue problems well remember it's a live show and that's what makes live shows great. If any of you have watched Saturday Night Live in the U.S you would know where I am coming from.
I do agree however that they need to wind the show back to 60mins max. Ch 9 do not have good enough writers to do 2 hours every week. 60 mins every week is filled with unfunny garbage. If they stuck with just football for 2 hours this would get boring also.
As for the rest of the panel well they make me cringe especially Marshall and Beau Ryan. Both try and play up to the camera and it does not work. That Beau Knows segment is absolute rubbish and it is only a matter of time before someone knocks him out. At least Robbo could make a conversation with the average punter a little entertaining. It's a very tough gig, I couldn't do it.

Thought it was ok…i prefer the sunday footy show.
With a few new guys on board its a bit harsh to knock the show after just 1 show.
Beau ryans segment is funny....shane dont you think the people he gees up know whats going on.
Anyway if you dont like it .....dont watch it
