The pathological attention-seeking of Hagipantelis meant he was constantly out of his lane and interfering in football matters that should have been left to the Football department/CEO...

Barry should be focusing on recruiting suitably skilled independent board members moving forward

Wonder how he is going doing that? It’s been 8-9 months to identify & appoint the 3 additional independents but crickets so far.

It's a bit like recruiting top players when the club is struggling - except the Boatrd positions are only paid an honorarium so you can't even sweeten the deal by paying overs...

Better to take the time to get quality people who are invested in the club and can add value to the Board than the usual bums with their snouts in the trough etc!

How is it a priority?

The business is functional and it is of greater importance to get the right people long term than shoe-horn in local developers and real estate agents - DODGY lawyers etc... who are just in it for the free lunches and publicity!

Governance has been highlighted as one of the Club’s biggest long-term issues. And securing independents with different expertise was apparently highlighted in last year’s review.

Correct - but the priority is NOT time-based - it is "EXPERTISE" based!!

The RIGHT candidates are critical - and with the club still giving off a stench of failure the best corporate candidates aren't lining up...

It is not anything similar to recruiting staff/players - as the Board positions are effectively voluntary!

Yes good points, I do agree. Just IMO We’ve had enough time to find suitable candidates. But yes if we haven’t, no point appointing someone based on time.

I saw him at Leichhardt on Thursday walking around the path near the hill with his NRL accreditation so he is at least here. No grange bottle in hand but a beer is nearly as expensive at the games😂😂
