Chances next week?

Interested as to how people think we will go next week.
Depressing loss last night and I honestly don't want to linger on it (I went out with my GF after the game and got my mind off it, feel slightly better today but disillusioned).
Cronulla aren't spectacular but neither are we. Will the "bounce back factor" be enough to get us over the line?
If it were me playing I'd want to send a strong message that we don't need anyone who went to Cronulla and that we can actually stand up in adversity and make a meal of it. A week or two late but I wouldn't be complaining if it happened this week.
 
If Marshall is playing, we will lose. He costs us way too many tries by trying to do no look passes that go over the sideline. Hopefully we see Moses/Miller and Brooks as the first grade halves next year. We will get flogged either way so just give the juniors a go.
 
Not too bad actually, I like to remain as optimistic as I can :slight_smile: I think we can sneak a win since we're arent at Shark Park and benji will be 100% and have a full week training at 6.

But, if we go down fighting by 8-12 that's alright too since we dont have any good centres. I just hope Potter plays Simona and Reddy at centres and maybeeee Taqele, not sure how he's travelling in NSW cup in terms of errors.
 
The only chance we have is if the long standing 'bogey' we seem to have over Cronulla continues. However, I think that was pretty well broken last season, so it's looking more like Buckley's chance, sad to say.

I don't think you have given this post a great deal of thought. Moses is a lightweight who would get destroyed. He's at least 2 years away and needs to put on at least 10kg of muscle.
 
I'm gonna be totally serious here.
I can't see us winning another game, I really can't! our attack is that bad that we just can't score points and our defence isn't good enough to hold teams out. Even if we play at our best and have a bit of luck I still don't think its enough to win.
 
I think we can beat the Sharks its a team we like playing and I think players will be firing up for this game.

The following week is Souths so that's going to be tough… then North Queensland who I think we can also beat.

Look out Top 8 here we come.
 
Love the enthusiasm Irvine. With a team half made up of ex tigers I think we are a chance. I say that because a few of our boys will want bragging rights at there social events but that's about it.Hope we win Ill be at the game waving our flag!!!
 
I'm afraid this time tradition has nothing to do with whether or not we'll beat them. THEY, along with every other team, will go in thinking they are the favourites. It's going to have to come down to playing with pride and passion in the jersey because on paper our roster is so weak!

Cronulla are going to be tough to beat

They compete well and hang in there ,and despite being 2-5 their for and against is only -18

I think it comes down to who we pick in the centres to be honest ,we should be able to match them in the forwards

Cronulla have to be favourites and I think we might struggle
 
At the moment we are not playing with much confidence . It will depend on the team that Potter/ Simmons selects and if they can instill a little bit of enthusiasm before the game.

Of course Benji will play and his form is poor so dont expect him to be leading us forward. And of course Blair will play which means we are one player short before we start.

He certainly needs to but he's a crazy good attacking footballer. I think he would carve up NRL but his defence would be hopeless and he would get ragdolled when hands get on him. Marshall wasn't very big when he made NRL.

He certainly needs to but he's a crazy good attacking footballer. I think he would carve up NRL but his defence would be hopeless and he would get ragdolled when hands get on him. Marshall wasn't very big when he made NRL.

He has some brilliant attack, I was watching the u/20's game against Dogs and wasn't it him that put Rudolph through? Couldn't tell who it was. Rudolph did some great stuff to score than try palmed off about 2 players, reminded me of 2005 when Richards scored that try,

who? they got flogged by the bulldogs a bit better than us but we have a lot more injuries and they just got graham and kasiano back. Plus robbie/benji will be 100% next week. I'm sensing a win, i hope!
 
I believe we could escape with a good win, a grind-out is on the cards. Comes down to who plays honestly, after we see the team on Tuesday night we'll have a better look upon it.
 
Funniest thread ever we will be taken to school by the sharks as long as Royce is our Defence coach and has input into the team we are screwed sooner him McDonnell and humpty are gone and our front office is fixed up we are in a lot of trouble, PS drop that useless Marshall to nsw cup and we might start looking a little better
