Channel 9 and its usual garbage

As usual too much to ask to get the game live First game is half an hour behind . They really don't give a crap about the fans . (In Qld anyway ,might be different down south) Give the coverage to someone who cares
 
I couldnt agree more.The same AFL game will be on one hd and fox sports live so bewilders me why it cant be done with the best game in the world :slight_smile:
 
there should be a use it or lose it law. if you have the rights but dont show it live then another channel can show it live! you know it makes sense!
 
Agree Channel 9 are hopeless, they will have to lift their game when the rights come up again if the NRL are fair dinkum.
 
In this instance i think the NRL are to blame
Every Fri kick off is at 7.30…..tonight they go to 7.00pm.....why change just for some BS dbl header?
I wasnt aware and heard a score on radio before i started watching
 
it also gave us 30 mins less to do dream team. i got it done correctly though with a few mins to spare… lol
 
Sadly, this rubbish is the norm from channel 9\. Hopefully it gets sorted in the new TV rights deal for 2013\. They could have missed BBT repeats for 1 night, advertised during ORIGIN that FNF starts at 7 not 7:30 this week and people would have got the message.
 
i watched that show that they had on before the footy on channel 9\. i think it was big bang theory. its pretty funny
 
Couldn't agree more with the Topic Title. These guys are useless and need to be thrown out of the game if we are to secure a rights deal which involves all games being shown live.

Especially with Sunday Football, only concerned about their news ratings, not the football fans. Well, looks like I'll have to be sitting through another great episode of following the Tigers game on NRL Live Scoreboard or radio, all because these guys can't show the game live.

Ink I like the idea of double headers myself . But channel 9 have resposibilities to the game and its fans If they aren't going to treat them with respect Sayonara Channel 9

its not good but why didnt u just watch it at 4pm? just turn your phone off and stay off the net/radio so you dont find out the score early
 
its absolute madness in this day and age that they can't show live games on Sunday…so does that mean if 9 lose the rights we don't have to put up with the footy show anymore?

Wouldnt think so, the AFL Footy Show has spent most of its life running without ch 9 having the AFL rights.
If anything it could result in less footy talk as the other channels could ban their footage from being shown on ch 9.
Similar to what ch 9 did to the Matty Johns show and similar to what ch 7 did to ch 9 years ago when they originally had the TV rights.
 
Yeh bad enough it starts an hour later but so many ads is frustrating, then no time at end to see the man of match interviews or any other interviews cause they gotta rush to the news. Then all FOX have to show is the crappy ch9 version(atleast minus the ads). Half the time the commentators aren't even talking about the game in play, & forget players names when they do call it. Hopeless coverage from ch9.

if Gus is such the advocate about Sunday arvo footy as he claims to be then why doesn't he push for games to be shown live on Sunday…there wouldn't be another sport in the world whose coverage on free-to-air TV is as bad as Rugby League...never in my life have i seen the other free-to-air channels delay the AFL on a Sunday...if Gallop and the NRL are serious they have to demand live games on a Sunday when the rights are up...might as well go back 20 yrs when they would cut so much of the game so they could fit it into a 1 hour timeslot
 
Unfortunately it is not only a rugby league issue. I read last year that by the end of the coverage Channel 7 was about half an hour behind in their "live" coverage of Bathurst. The reason they gave was that there was not enough accidents (which means safety cars) so they could put in a bunch of ads. So they "paused" the race, showed a bunch of ads, then started the race again.

Free to air coverage of most sports in Australia is just rubbish and the sooner the government put "use it or lose it" rules in place the better.
