Chris heighington

I just spoke to my brother inlaw who is a mad raiders fan & he told me about this rumour as well
He said it's in their forum (the green room) & says something along the lines of him having a falling out with someone within the club about his move to the central coast bears.

In saying this i don't believe it for one moment,i doubt the club would grant him a release & they would be crazy too

i just find it all very hard to believe.
i can't see sheens wanting rhino gone, and for good reason.

as for the bears talk.that has to be complete crap.
in 05 he stated he would join the bears if they got in the nrl instead of the titans.just like boof did.
since then he has signed 2 contracts and been a valuable asset.
if this is somehow true, then it is the official at the club that needs to be moved to canberra.

haha ha…......Sirro what have you been up to......

I'm surpised Lawrence being shopped to the Rorters hasn't got a run yet........ :unamused:

Just kicking back mate. Not interested in getting into any Heighno talk. The guy is currently in my starting 13 for next year, and i hope i have no reason to want him out after the season starts. Im not pro Heighno all of a sudden, (far from it), but i do want the guy to recapture his 08 form.

I don't think Heighington will be leaving the tigers any time soon.

I also agree with Sirro that Heighington has been ineffective in attack the past year and for a few previous seasons before that. However I think majority of the past season wasn't his fault. At the beginning of the year he wasn't running on the fringes like he was in 2008, instead he often was running back towards the markers and I can only assume this was a coaching decision. The injury he suffered hampered his form as well. I honestly think sheens may have been better off utilizing another second rower and letting him properly recovering and coming back at 100%. He also isn't an 80 minute player, he would be better off given a breather to keep his impact throughout the game, and this was even more obvious when he was injured.

You can't however critise his passion for the club or his defense. A fit heighington is the second best secondrower in the club after ellis, and deserves a chance to bring 2008 form back to 2010, and I think he will be able to achieve that.

He will never be the destructive explosive second rower in the mold of a Frank Pritchard or SBW or Ali Lautiiti (in 2002), but those explosive ball runners, as that list shows have wide fluctuations in form, and for periods of the game are often ineffective and uninvolved. I would prefer Heighington with his strong ball running (though not game breaking and explosive), consistency and strong defense (ala 2008 form) over an inconsistent game breaker that will be as ineffective and useless (like Pritchard and to a greater extent TEO!), in more games than what they play well in.

there is no one in the club thats put as much effort in defense as rhino does.

Farah's defensive work rate is unbelievable, up there with the best in the game. He regularly tops 40 tackles. Plus he adds more in attack then pretty much any player (only just short of Benji at his absolute best).

This is not meant to denigrate Heighington, just a statement of fact.

What about Lawrence - he improved from a terrible defender who lost us games from his defence to an awesome defender.

I hope Rhino plays next season in his best form - he can be a top player for us.

The who? Last time I checked there was no Central Coast team in the NRL nor any sign there will be…

I heard an interview a few weeks back on either "2sm-Talkin Sport" or "2ue-Sports Today" with Greg Florimo who is leading the bid for Central Coast Bears, He said that the target to be the consortiums first signing and captain would be Chris Heighington. He is a Umina Bunny.

However, They need to get the green light first…

The way NORTH SYDNEY think they have a mortgage on the Central Coast and a right to return via that back door makes me sick.

Well they actually do if it wasnt for the torrential rain in '99 stopping construction of the stadium they would still be in the NRL playing out of there n would be backed by one of the richest men in Australia

You need to review your history and check facts. I was actually involved in contracts for that stadium and it wasnt actually as late (contractually) as they said. Nth Sydney HOPED it would be finished early but they NEVER are. Also at the time, North Sydney VERY publically (Sydney Papers) told North Sydney council where they could stick North Sydney Oval and publically berated NSC about how badly they had been treated. When Gosford wasnt finished early they had to go back cap in hand to NSC and guess what…..NSC more than doubled the rental on NSO.

North Sydney very soon went broke through years of extremely poor management, not 3 months worth of high rentals, but not before both the president and chairman tore off into the distance with all their cash, super & Holden Statesman's.

Norths went broke before the criteria was even applied but they continue this "poor me" "we was a victim" charade.

If Central Coast get up, it should be as Central Coast, an entirely new identity and not as North Sydney.

Their problem is, they know and it was quoted by Florimo, that the Central Coast does not have the population, juniors, teams etc to sustain or justify a NRL team and so they are banking on the inclusion of the North Sydney element to bump up numbers.

They would be a pseudo Sydney Team and that is the last thing the NRL needs.

That is exactly what happened Glen, poor management sent Norths to the wall.

Another little bit of info is that prior to Balmain changing to the Sydney Tigers in the nineties, they had canvassed the idea of relocating to the Central Coast. Central Coast RL basically told us to bugger off, they wanted their own team.

Few years later they had the Beagles imposed on them and now it seems that Norths have ordained that they have a rigth to the Central Coast.

I wonder why when the GC Titans were introduced a few years ago that they didn't simply reinvite the Gold Coast Seagulls?…....

If the CC get a team it should be their team and not NORTHS.

Glenn

I live on the central coast, and i know the marjority of league supporters up here dont want the BEARS,, including myself, we have plenty of juniors to start our own,, how about the central coast VULTURES ?
