Well they actually do if it wasnt for the torrential rain in '99 stopping construction of the stadium they would still be in the NRL playing out of there n would be backed by one of the richest men in Australia

That would be the same guy who backed Newtown in the 1980s just before they went broke. Norths put all their eggs in one basket and then were too pigheaded to keep playing at NSO while the ground was being built. Sure there was some bad luck but they were incredibly bone-headed about the whole thing.

That also would be the same guy who along with Dawn was the Wests Tigers inaugural Patron. Singo will bend with the winds of marketing change.

I live on the central coast, and i know the marjority of league supporters up here dont want the BEARS,, including myself, we have plenty of juniors to start our own,, how about the central coast VULTURES ?

I also live on the Coast and I'd say most people don't give a stuff. The one thing NSB have in their favour is there was always a link between the CC and NS. I remember when I was playing you'd get a few juniors from the Coast coming down to play junior reps to get into the grade system.

In any case I just don't see the massive groundswell behind having a team at the moment.

Agree with that Tomcat we dont want the bears! I would always have the Tigers as my number one team though.
How bout the Central Coast Pelicans?

I'd rather the Central Coast Bears than the Central Coast Sharks/Roosters/Storm or whatever else they decide to throw up.

It's despicable that a team like Cronulla in their darkest hour would bail out on their fans and move to a whole new location. The fans there who want a new team deserve better than a bunch who were basically on the verge of going belly up so they took the money and moved their mess of a club to smother any chance of a new local team coming in. If I was a Central Coast Rugby League fan, I would not support a team like Cronulla relocating.

I thought this was the Chris Heighington thread?

It is there was talk Chris was going to sign with the bears at one stage of his career I believe it was prior to 2005.
Also would love to read a thread that stays on topic.

Personally, i dont see what the big deal is when a thread goes off topic. I think it should just evolve naturally. Whenever it goes off topic its usually just an evolution of the original topic anyway.

When arguing gets out of hand i think its fine to pull it up and get back on track, but if it isnt arguing, just let the fans talk about whatever comes up. Seems stupid to get into something with people only to be told to stop or start a new thread.

 Yeah I agree…....who wants to talk about Heigno anyway........

It's relavent come 2012..........

True that, but contracts seem to be made to be broken these days. IMO I dont think Chris is the sort of player who would break his deal.

Who knows he could have a get out clause if Sheens goes.
