Chris Lawrence to snub Dogs, stay Tiger

It will only be a 'pre match blow' or 'major coup' if it is officially announced tomorrow….fingers crossed it is

Funny how people love the DT when its something they wanna hear, despise them when its something they dont like

How do we stay under the cap? Great news but:

Marshall
Farah
Lawrence
Ellis
Tuqiri
Heighington

Would be on a lot.

Farah,Heino and Benj and Bryce all debuted in 2003 so we get compensations in the cap for long service players.

Sweet. Just wondering, last thing we want is a Storm circus.

By letting go of Moors, Daniela and maybe Brown.

As i have stated earlier Big problem will be keeping some of the younger players One that does concern me is Moltzen There are clubs out there that will offer some big bucks if he has a big season probably a few others but not sure what players are signed until when . I thought (i could be wrong ) I heard that Souths are taking a big look at him ????Maybe if McKinnon doesn't look good we will need to offload him to keep Moltzen imo

Moltzen > McKinnon

If it came down to it It'd be an easy decision.

To the guy who said drop Moors, Daniela & Brown, don't think that'd be necessary.
The cap increase & new TV deal will hopefully come into fruition and we'll be able to keep all our depth players, not to mention my under rated favorite GEOFF DANIELA.

I am fairly certain Moltzen is signed until the end of next season, great news on Rowdy if true.

Next year will we may see a few players move on to get more of an opp,

1 year after this left for Payto and Lote

Moors, Daniela and Brown are not playing regular FG and are all off contract at the end of this season. For that reason it makes sense for the Tigers to let them go if it means securing a representative player of Lawrence's class.

slater, inglis, smith, finch, turner, cronk, white, blair, hoffman, johnson, lima

compare to the rep players we have now
farah, benji, ellis, lote, lawrence

**Lawrence poised to sign deal with Tigers**

WHILE Wests Tigers fans are disappointed at losing their opening game of the season 24-14 to the Bulldogs on Monday night at ANZ Stadium, there is good news with the retention of international centre Chris Lawrence imminent.
The 20-year-old is poised to sign a long-term deal thwarting several offers from rival NRL clubs.

Ironically, the Wests Tigers' opponent on Monday night were keen to sign the Eagle Vale-St Andrews juniors to bolster their playing roster for 2012 and beyond.

"We're confident Chris will be staying with the Tigers on a long term deal," Wests Tigers chief executive Stephen Humphreys said.

"We hope to make an announcement about his future in the next few days."

Wests Tigers now prepare for their round two NRL clash against New Zealand Warriors at Leichhardt Oval, this Saturday, at 7.30pm.

Second-rower Gareth Ellis rolled his ankle in the Bulldogs game.

He will be monitored by medical staff this week.

Sheens said his team didn't complete their sets of possession adequately in the second half against the Bulldogs.

"When you don't complete your sets well enough you are always under the pump," Sheens said.

The reason I posted to the other thread is that there is whole thread dedicated to Chris Lawrence that this could easily go in, not to mention similar articles are actually already in. Not a big deal but it's general forum etiquette. Don't know why my post was deleted for it?

Can we keep all discussion relating to Chris Lawrence's future in the one thread please?

Thanks in advance.

THE Tigers have landed a pre-match blow on the Bulldogs with news the club is set to re-sign Chris Lawrence and kill off a massive offer from Canterbury.

In a major coup on the eve of tomorrow night's blockbuster, The Sunday Telegraph can reveal Chris Lawrence will this week sign a deal with the Wests Tigers worth more than $350,000 a year.

The Tigers reacted swiftly after learning the Bulldogs had expressed interest in the NSW flyer as Canterbury giant Jamal Idris ponders a lucrative offer from the Knights.

Lawrence is the latest big-name player to be taken off the market after fellow centre Shaun Kenny-Dowall signed a lucrative deal to stay with the Roosters last week.

On the ball bot

lol….has Chris Lawrence signed on the..........................................x yet?

hope this isn't another Kade Snowden type of re-signing

although this time Tinkler appears to be after Idriss not Lawrence …. although if Idriss does go to Newcastle then the Dogs have more $$$ to spend .

I guess it aint signed until its signed ... although as I've found out in my personal life today , there are some people in this world who don't understand the concept of legally binding contracts ... :imp:
