Chris Lawrence

Chris Lawrence has been named in the squad to potentially play Parra this Friday. Amazing recovery from his shocking injury. Will take some time to get "match fit" and also re-gain his confidence but will be great to see our flying try scoring machine back to his best in time to come. We've definitely missed his ability to break the line, score length of the field tries and occasional bone crushing tackles.

Anyone know if Chris has been playing in any of the feeder teams over the past few weeks or is he going straight into first grade?

Straight back in mate. So he should too. We have missed him heaps. Great player n great bloke. I wish him all the best! Go Chris!!! Good luck mate !

a pleasant surprise, and yes, we definitely have missed him from the team.

hope he goes well and can get some form in the coming weeks.

great to see him back, however don't expect miracles from the guy. Will most likely take a few weeks to build up confidence and will probably be a little tentative which is understandable.Personally i'm not to sure wether to except much from Lawrence of Lumeah for the rest of the yr.It was a pretty serious injury and i'd be surprized if he picks up where he left off anytime soon. However i'm more then happy to eat my words on this occasion

I agree with every one that he will take some time to re-build his confidence and match fitness. Great to see him back playing the game for the moment. I'm hoping his presence will also give the team a lift as well. Special players seem to do that.

I'm looking forward to the day (hopefully soon) when Ray "rabbits" Warren once again screams the big names Marshall, Ayshford, Lawrence and Tuquri during another Tiger's attacking raid!

Firstly Welcome Shano.

I just think it's ironic that Chris Lawrence comes back the week of Origin 3,

Good Luck Mate

With word that both Jennings and Scott won't play tonight, NSW could do no worse than putting him on a plane to Brisbane this morning.

Your kidding he hasnt played in 4 months & you want to throw him into state of origin, Ijust hope he comes through Friday night o.k, good luck Chris.

To be brutally honest, I don't expect much from Lawry this season.

Would you be running hard knowing that the last time you did it, you popped your hip out and felt the most excruciating pain imaginable.

I must say it is good looking at the line up for this week and seeing his name on the team list. Go the tigers!

I recon Chris is gonna rip in. I saw him score a try early in his career against easts and some lowlife came across late and poleaxed him. I was sure he was ko'd. The trainer got him up and back into position and he played on and scored another try later on. After the game he was still a bit wobbley and wasn't 100%. He is one tough dude and only has one speed. I cant wait to see him run out for us good luck Chris.

Be interesting to see how much pace he has lost…(hopefully none)...Great to see him back. His timing and fitness will be off but its good to see him earlier than expected.

He will make us all proud.
That being said, if not, I know he will not let anyone down, esp. his team.

Just looking at some footage of Lawrence's career highlights thanks to BonstonkerTiger post on youtube. Gets you pretty excited and proud to be a WT supporter.

I've copied the link below just in case anyone hasn't seen it. Amazing how many times Lawrence either breaks the line with his power and speed, or sprints away from opposition as if they are standing still or also look out for how often he improves the position of his tries after crossing the try line. He's a fantastic finisher and would do us proud either in the centres or fullback with more open space to run and more ball touches.

My personal favourite tries are at the 7th minute mark against Storm when Lawrence leaves Billy Slater eating his dust and then at the 10th minute of the clip when Lawrence leaves half the dragons side diving and grasping at thin air. Awesome stuff from a brilliant talent!!!

Thanks again to BonstonkerTiger for the great highlight clips. Love your work every time!

Benji and Lawrence both started in first grade so early at 16\. We haven't had players of that caliber for a long time! Can still remember Lawry's opening year on the wing. Absolutely killed it!

16 rubbish

The Youtube video is brilliant. Reminded of just how good this guy is.

It was amazing how successful the Benji/Lawrence combo is. Benji has missed his hole-running enormously - we have missed him greatly. So glad he's back.
