I think the whole we can’t say Merry Christmas is rubbish, I am yet to meet a single person to take offence to it. Happy holidays is an American thing which probably explains a McDonalds worker saying it, probably told to say that by the bosses.
I have had Muslims & Buddhists wish me merry Christmas. I think the whole outrage about not being able to say merry Christmas is manufactured. Just my opinion.

I think this is more people trying to bring the American pop culture wars to Australia.
If you get upset about happy holidays and you don't go to church for Christmas you are a weirdo.
The Christmas part involves Christianity if you don't celebrate it, the name Christmas is irrelevant.
No point in getting upset if you aren't Christian
