Coach Benji 👑

I tipped us to run 11th this year with our roster. Injuries have probably prevented that.

It’s a long game we need to be playing here.
I was more optimistic. I thought the quality in rival teams was low last year and actually thought overall it was a bit of a shitty year across the NRL. Quite a few of our lads have played big time footy and learnt extra skills in post season competitions. They were derailed last year, but showed some great fight at stages.
That gave me reason to believe that we may have had the core group to play finals this season with the caveat that the injury gods had to be kind. They haven’t been but our preparation and contingency planning has also been subpar. If we continue on this current trajectory, I am confident to state this will be a worse result than the spoon years given the roster we have and their apparent buy in.

The depth just wasn’t there in the forwards, it never has been at our club.

Losing causes friction in the locker room. I’d rather Benji be given a chance to fix this than blow it all up and start again.

Each to their own though.

I do think Benji needs more experience around him in the roster management space.

….and coaching.
Our attack is so sideways it’s almost comical. Only Herbert was trying to straighten the attack yesterday, the rest ran straight across field passing to a bloke in a similar position. Easy to defend that rubbish.
The defence has always been garbage. It annoys me we cannot at least improve this.

oh i am sorry i didnt realise they have won anything at the moment....

they will do a canberra in 2025 out in straights sets minus the minor premiership

they are on a massive slide mate
the great pretenders of the comp warriors closely followed by the sharks

saving.up to back the opposition in a warriors hosted semi final and get the good price.
Warriors v Sharks GF the TAB just shortened the price. 😎

Good luck on the punt mate.

I guess there’s the argument whether some of the guys were relying on are capable of being coached.

Players need to drink more kava & harden up they're all too soft & buckle under pressure
Same goes for the coach
Fans have had enough its the 15th season in a row without finals
2027 isn't looking any better
This is how most fans waking up feel this morning after another hammering
🤬
I totally agree with your post, also I honestly reckon that we are far reliant on what we have as far as the "boys club " goes..you only have to look around and see old players from the days of glory in the coaching and assistant roles..
I admire Benji's love of the club and players however the club and team overall needs new and more experienced people in the coaching department in my opinion...
We need to go forward not back and I think the results so far show we are going backwards..

Herbert is no world beater but at least he has some aggression and is not afraid to show it, no one else out there yesterday showed some balls.

Few on here don't like him but I'm happy he has another year with us, interesting to see what another summer can add to his game.

He just looks annoying to tackle. And annoying to run at. Lol
Goes overboard sometimes but at least there’s a bit of passion in his game.

They commented on Fox after half time in the Dogs game...what the coaches said at half time.

Benji apparently told them there was too much one out hit ups...while this was obvious it blew me away as it seemed like they were just doing their own thing in the first half.
With Latu on in the 2nd half.we did look bettwer and.played more expansive...but the game was gone.
The fact he had to tell them at half.time...it really seemed like they went against initial instructions

Yep

after half time we had 3 or so sets on their line and did not throw a punch. This has been a pretty consistent story with many games this year. We don't even look like scoring. Even when we were going well, our attack was not as flowing as much as people tell you It was (watch Brisbane and in particular souths games where we had a mountain of possession and couldn't score).

Last month in short.

Knights - good game plan in bog, players failed to execute second half.

Dragons - lead most of the game. Execution issues in attack.

Warriors. Never recovered after failing to find touch early.

Dogs - never recovered after letting a 40 /20 go out early.

Yesterday - didn’t watch.

For me, the players are letting themselves down. Coaches not blameless but I think upgrading the roster should be the focus.
