Coach Benji 👑

Ain't happening.

Bulas our most well liked player by team mates and coaching staff.

He's playing injured so we ain't seeing anything close to first grade standard.
It seems to me when these players get injured they are never the same again ( at the WT's anyway !)

Samuela would be on every clubs radar. It doesn't matter who he decides to sign with if it's not us - it's the same old same old question why we can't quietly retain players we want and have to pay overs with lengthy negotiations that result in player distractions and poor form.

Is it any wonder that coaches fail at this club - it doesn't go unnoticed that the last two coaches both premiership winners at the next clubs that they went to.
The players are realising the same as us,,,,,,,that they are all playing badly, so they give up, and the ones that don't want to continue to play in a bady (run! coached !) team/club, want to get out and I guess you can't blame them-why do you think Luai is leaving I'm sure he wouldn't be leaving a club that was successful.

Kade7 mentioned Sam will sign before Nov1 , I don’t get the hold up as Luai money is there , Benji has given Josh Shush a life line , we signed Sione , what is the hold up , if you want a player you go get it done , we seem to piss about for months , lock him down along with Latu ,
How often do “the owners” meet to discuss recruitment decisions? Do they put such matters on the general monthly meeting?

Waiting for Manese to get out of the Big House and making sure he has a deal of some kind most likely ..

Benji leads with emotion rather than a clear head.

He's passionate and wants to succeed, which is great. However, when we started the year well, I was surprised that he focused on the negatives rather than the positives after a win.

That's a classic Bennett reaction, he did it when South's beat us in a close game early in the season.

When interviewed said that they won't make finals with that kind of performance, pointing to their shortcomings, Benji uses his coaching style.

Benji is explicitly still on a steep learning curve as the head coach of the Wests Tigers, which he has routinely acknowledged during his rocky tenure. His evolution from a legendary player into an elite man-manager is very much an ongoing, high-stakes process, which the WT management has seemingly backed. I suspect if he remains, there'll be more of this, until something will give.

Benji can succeed here but he needs to pull his head out of his arse when it comes to his jobs for the 05 boy BS.

In no way shape or form is a moron like Chris Heighnington qualified to be an assistant coach, nor is Brett Hodgson, who has never achieved a single thing in his brief coaching career. John Morris is the only one on Benji’s staff that is qualified and has experience.

First thing that needs to happen in the offseason is new experienced assistant coaches. If Benji isn’t willing to do that, he can piss off with Luai. Enough is enough with the 05 nostalgia at this club.

How good has this been handled?

AD should play where he is told.

But surely there is a process that should be followed when there are 'delicate' team decisions?

I'm not sure of the processes at the club or any first grade club but is this how Bennett would have handled the situation, tell someone on the Thursday they are playing out of position?

Did AD know early in the week? If not, he should have?

Benji's in trouble.

Bateman 2 years ago.
Galvin 1 year ago.
And now AD.

Might be AD having a sook this time but it's becoming a very public pattern.
You're forgetting Nofoaluma too. And Naden. However nearly all the guys that have effed off have done nothing. Galvin has not developed one bit and neither has TDS.

AD gave Benji a lot of credit for his help during his rehab. The guy was in career best form just this season and Benji also played a role in that.

Besides, we do not know what happened between them today nor do we know the extent of AD's injury. Moving him to lock with a badly damaged shoulder can't be great?
