Coach Benji 👑

I think that we will need to watch how this pans out over the next few days. AD's hs burnt any credits he had with the team. My gut feel is that the playing group will be divided and we will continue to flounder; however, if they sit down openly and candidly and bring it out as a team and lay it on th table warts and all, maybe there is somethign to be salvaged. It is a huge ask and I am certainly not expecting anything positive to come from it. Maybe some truths will come out; but more likely the resentment will fester.
Yeah same Jolls iv never been a pro player but its just like in life its the big no no. You never leave your mates in tge trenches. What happens if half the group go see Benji saying he should be in first grade next game. The other half say he has to be in reserve grade next week. Adam should have been told to walk. I like the guy, but we finally need to set standards. Its sad to me looking in from outside, we've changed coaches, players, board members and executives. Yet we still have a soft under belly. On the field you see it all the time we have a soft underbelly any time it gets tough we buckle. Because as a whole our club through its history have always made excuses to take the easy option. It bleeds down to the playing group. By taking the hard decisions to set standards, it shows players discipline, teaches them to mentally deal with adversity and other things they take on the pitch with them. We have always taken the easy way out. Cant wait for the day the guys in authority in the joint decide from here on in we take the hard road. Everytime. I reckon within 2 - 3 seasons you will have a team of guys that have resilience we have never seen as our club. It would have been taught to them, not on the training pitch but from the front office.

They don't though mate. Even the two blokes who were accountable to members got removed by the debenture holders. That's how bad this HBG organisational structure is.

NSW L&G is such a lazy body to not to create laws to restrict corruptible setups like this.
Like the N.R.L integrity unit. Paper Tigers who just go after the low hanging fruit.

Horribly weak by the CEO as well, the player managers will be lining up to pick the meat of his bones.......

I’m backing Benji here he had the season derailed by the Galvin drama last year and being honest this year it was injury to Bula, Taylan May. KPP, Sam Fainu, Douihei, Hunt, Latu Fainu. Luai then leaves for ridiculous money to PNG and Douihei pulls an act not seen in the history of the league,

Jury is out on him however, not sure a junior coach can do in this situation.

The Whiplash Play

What if Benji picks Doueihi at 13 and makes out as though everything is sweet. Then 20 mins into the game when Doueihi is cooked and asks to be subbed off, Benji tells him "you're playing 80 mins and I'm going to watch your career end today. If you don't like it you can walk off in front of 20,000."

Consequently, it goes either of 2 ways;

1. Doueihi embarrasses himself as he's completely gassed and everyone can see that he doesn't have a heart, thus ending his career.

2. Doueihi fires up and puts in a performance worthy of an immortal, purely due to Benji pushing him beyond his limits and into greatness.

You would have been a great Roman Emperor

Benji is in a mess of his own creation. Whatever he does will look like a reaction.

If he drops Luai and plays Douehi in the halves, he is pandering to AD.

If he drops Javon who he has touted as the future, he looks like he has backflipped amid pressure and last week was for nothing.

If he plays AD at lock or centre things look great. Come the offseason they will likely be be grounds to agitate for a release. Things will only get worse if his bad shoulder (which is being mentioned in sympathetic media) gives out.

He is probably also starting to have to juggle long term roster planning with the need to start winning games as the seat warms up under him.
