Collis' defence

I agree with TigerJim. I have been impressed with the way PRITCHARD has applied himself with Wests this year. He turns up to play and puts in each week and at the risk of being called racist, not like some who go missing. This kid is a real talent, his defence is solid and can score tries from any part of the field. Friends of mine told me he was the fastest player over 70 to 100 metres at Easts but never got a go there, stuck on the wing and rarely saw the ball, due to the coaching style .
They said they were sorry to see him leave the club but understood why!
I have watched and coached football for a long time now and believe if he gets a shot in FG and is coached properly he will be a stand out player. Once again I agree with Tiger Jim he and Lawrence would be dynamic in the centers.
But thats just my opinion!

I think the assessment of Collis' game and in particular his defense has been grossly unfair. I just finished watching a replay of the game and Collis made some very good reads, and let through as many tackles as Ayshford did and yet not a word is spoken about them. Collis is a quality attacking footballer who, when given early ball, can move a defender around at will and expose a winger to put his outside man away. He showed this on the overs line he ran in the second half and I think moving Lawrence to fullback and keeping Collis in the centres has a lot more merit then bringing Handbury into the squad.
Considering it was Collis first game back he was solid and will only get better with match fitness and two ball playing halves.

Davis maybe but in reality the right centre has to defend in the halves spot and Pritchard would not handle that IMO.

I don't see a problem with the way Ayshford is developing in the centres to be honest. It was a mistake to move him to the left side of the field for the Roosters game. Moving a player without need for mine. Collis should have played left side and leave the right structure alone. It was where we have been weak until Ayshford stepped up to the plate and has tightened up alot not just through his efforts but through the combination formed.

Yes Blake does need to work out when to give it a little more frequently but I am not that worried as I would rather he play safer in the bigger games the back end of the year

Actually smeg, Davis is the weaker defender of the two, most of the opposition tries come down his side..

I would suggest that has more to do with Davis's inside men but would be happy to be wrong
