Compared to other clubs

I don't know about way down the bottom, more so amongst the bottom. Our roster is sub par but not disgustingly poor. There is more than enough talent there to be performing better than we are. I don't even really mean winning more games. We sit about where I would expect in that regard. I just mean we are not producing on the field.
People point at the tight losses and believe where close. I can't think of any of those tight losses where it wasn't one of the worst recent performances by the respective opposition. Yet, even with our opposition off their game they still outplay us.
I do agree however that I cannot see where the future improvement comes from. As you said the likes of Dragons, Warriors and Roosters have some fantastic young forwards coming through.
Recruitment is the key short term because there is something broken with our junior development and/or retention.
In short, no we are not keeping up. I don't think we are miles behind we are narrowly behind and seemingly unable to close the gap.
I think it very simple we are not identifying the right kids. Look at how quick the Roosters are building look at Penrith lots of examples. We are not for one reason or another developing and picking the right ones.

No one is going to bash you for putting an opinion forward respectfully.
I agree with what you said with the caveat that I don’t believe Benji is the victim here as he built this squad and has been working on it since the back half of 2022. Additionally, he has spent 3 preseasons with them and is in his 3rd year coaching them. He needs to produce results with them ASAP.
Unfortunately I’d suspect the current injuries have provided him with excuses that many are going along with.
yep this seems about right he put this side together its on him
i also think the side would have even without the injuries continue to go down the ladder we just didnt look good at all even when we were winning games
our players just have no idea what there doing out there esp in attack and thats a coach thing cause we all know these guys can play

I think it was back early 2023 Sheens said we would have a competitive team in 2026. He could still be right regardless of his sacking around that time.
We’ve been in most games this season with the exception of round 10, a 64-0 flogging. This one game may not define the teams overall lack of resilience, but it does highlight our inability to stay in the fight. We’ve been having these big scores put on us during the last few seasons.
Bellamy is uncompromising when it comes to winning, he could be up 60-0 with 5min from full time, and banging on the glass over a dropped ball.
Are other teams happy to get 8 points clear while coasting to victory?
In the last round, if Benji tells the players to “go out there and have some fun” I will join the “sack Benji” Congo line.

Mate . People want to kick the shit out of Benji. Have a look at the cattle we have, and then what chance has he got. Ill stand by what ive stated, we are years away from being competetive. Forget about this year, worry about how bleak it looks next year. Only my opinion and happy for everyone to bash me for it.
Most of our cattle are young. Benji has been in the coaching structure for at least 3 years.

It is the coaches job to develop young talent.

Benji isn’t doing his job.

Throwing them in first grade isn’t developing them.

It’s Richo’s job to fix the roster. To have a long term plan to keep the roster competitive with a mix of stars on big contract & youngsters locked in on cheaper contracts.

Sometimes you let the aging star move on to upgrade the youngsters & the cycle repeats.

Richo is not doing his job.

Mate thats what i was alluding to. Rectifying the problem wont be easy , i would think.

Pretty sure he said 2025. The narrative was always that the side would be strong and ready for when Benji takes over to start the 2025 season.
