Not to self: hit the bucket bong after DIY carpentry, not prior.

One hippy chippy enjoyed a ganja during lunch and wouldn't tie his waist length hair up, too risky for insurance so laid him off. If things weren't plumb or level he would just say that is how it is?? That is on wet area walls where tiles had to hang off. He was as ugly as hell, unshaven and hair uncut for years but managed to drop kids from many women??

The scary thought is what did his women look like?
Pretty safe to say there would of been some pretty freaky spider's legs on display! Aaargh

Having some sliding doors installed on balcony, which was deliberately slanted floor-wise towards so water would flow away. The not-very-brainy carpenter did not bother putting a spirit level on the floor when commencing the job so door were about 25mm out of plumb, needed packing close to 50mm on one end. I let him have it a bit so he did not come back after lunch, went surfing instead. He had wasted a few hours on the job and he is so slow to begin with.

If they were bottom roller style, then they need to be placed level and progresively packed up towards the lower end, else the stiles/sides as well as the base and head are out.

If top hung (hanging), again they are placed level and if timber they can be readily trimmed to suit the fall. However, the base of the in wall frame must also be adjusted to accept the slope bevel and you have to pay for it. Even then, the gap below has to be enough to allow the high side door to travel into the pocket and your pockets will be considerably lighter.

I would suggest making a plinth whenever a bottom track is used.

Yeah, just what I was gonna say…. 😱pen_mouth:

Haha 50mm is a fair bit. Sure he was a chippie?

He often touts his credentials over handymen and self leaners like the hippy chippy who is an ex-boiler maker. He proudly carries his white card or registration around with him. But the dumbest tradesman I have ever come across pretty well matching a plumber in the Philippines who wanted to trim a shower screen down because he had it sideways and was too wide. I had a qualified chippie from Canada who installed a double hung window upside down and back to front - must have been a Monday morning after his ganja weekend. I stopped him coming in Mondays - he was always moody and careless.

Probably best stop using Airtasker BBF.

You might be saving money to buy more grass but you're going to end up with a crap reno.

For some reason the Japanese girls here on student worker visas took a liking to him - he is out in the woods with free accommodo and free ganja. He build an enormous house out of tree logs, unbelievable. The step treads are about 4-5 inches thick, the stringers are about a foot diameter. Will take some shots and post.
