Geez, this is getting harder and harder.

There's nothing there that shouldn't be. Will Windows Update run? If so you could try updating to Vista SP2 and include the IE 8 update. It is probably a good idea to include the optional updates as well.

I'm a bit tired atm but I'll get back to you with more in the morning or at some point tomorrow.

Oh hold on, do you know what Research- - Enabled- Browser Extension is?

If not, disable it, close IE, open IE and try and get to the sites you can't get to.

Disabled the researcg browser and it had no impact.

I am now updating with IE8 and Vista SP2.

And then run a full scan of your computer with your AntiVirus.

I had a simialr issue with Facebook at the start of the year. I found deleting the Temporary Files and then logging on helped. It still happened for a couple of times after that but i just did the same thing over again and eventually it just dissapeared. Not sure to this day if it was just Facebook as i also informed them of it but the Temp Files being deleted always worked????

I did what you said senex last night and had the same problem. I came on again tonght and its working no worries. It said something about an atlas when I ran a spyware check which I quarantined. That could be it.

A huge thnaks to all involved, especially senex. You have saved a problem I didn't have a clue in and I have made my life that much easier. :wahoo:

AVG isn't bad. Not the best AV, but certainly not the worst.
