Cook to tigers

this is a good signing if they are hell bent on getting rid of robbie.

manaia WILL NOT be an 80 minute hooker until at least 2017\. cook is a great defender- cherry and him will work good together. imo, cook's already a better defender than robbie.

he has been terrific this season.

Ive seen him run around in lower grades for years and always thought he'd be a decent reserve hooker due to the fact he can play just about anywhere, Im pretty sure he has played a fair bit of fullback at times. Makes a good bench player.
Didnt think he was capable of doing what he has for the bulldogs in the last few weeks, playing 80 minutes, grinding out 40+ tackles and still keeping his zip out of DH, guess he is proved he is capable of being more than a bench player. IMO I think Cherrington is still a better player. Ive said for years I believe he is a superior player to Lichaa the whole way through, nothing in my mind ahs changed, still believe that is the case

Good on the young fellow for playing well. One can't help but make a comparison between the Dogs pack and ours. No doubt Cook has plenty of room in which to operate with Graham, Kasiano, Pritchard and others in the pack.

This is what I see as well, two quick and decisive hookers a different ball game next season . The halves will be able to work there magic and not have to rely on disjointed and ineffective ball delivery . Well that is if it is on the cards.

great little player but we dont need him, we need some size in the frontrow and the backrow, whats the point having all these great little blokes when they have no one to help them.
If this is true who ever is doing our recruitment needs stoning.

Now I am getting really confused. The main 80 minute players in your side is the spine. I am not sure where this current thought of two hookers being better than one comes from, as it just takes up a bench spot that could be used by another forward.

If we are moving Robbie to blood Mania and Little then why on earth do we need Cook?? Won't that just make Mania look elsewhere? I think there needs to be a little reading between the lines with this story but for the life of e I cannot work out what is going on…

Unless they're are desperate to try and get a first grade spot they'd be off their heads.
Even then, haven't they heard that our guys get gauranteed spots , and no matter what you do in reserve grade. You ain't gonna get a spot.unless you are one of Taylor's favoured ones

Out of curiosity, who was being kept out of first grade this yr because he wasn't one of JT's favourites?

NO ONE - just GCT having another swipe at JT.

Can't let a possible good thread get in the way of a dig at Taylor.

We luv ya! GT - swipe away Lol.

Don't think he is better than Cherrington. Cherrington has looked very good in limited minutes. Cherrington is going to be a very good attacking footballer, Cook may be a slightly better defender but he is not better with the ball. Cherrington does everything in attack with speed, would be interesting if anyone had a stat on points per minute scored while he has been on the field, I think it would be high.

He's a good player for sure, doubt he'd be coming here though.

Exactly , he'd have to have rocks in his head to come here !

Why would he not come to the club ! I see a club that is making the real hard decisions to move forward and break the mediocrity cycle. There will always be collateral damage when these things happen and fingers will be pointed but reality is something had to be done to change the culture at the club as it has been toxic for to long. No leadership equals no changes so there is at least some leadership as changes are happening and many will not be happy well that's life!

I thought Cook was close to the Dogs best last night. He has the determination that a guy like Reynolds has with none of the crap.

You have succinctly put the case for Cherrington. We don't need Cook and the money is better spent elsewhere.
