COREY NORMAN: POLICE INVESTIGATION

I'd be suspicious of someone who refused to have a metal detector passed over them as well TBH.
It is only there to make the place safer after all, couldn't really see why someone would refuse to be checked by the metal detector unless they were carrying something dodgy.

I'm Lebanese, so I'm used to being the guy pulled aside at airports and the like for the extra thorough security searches and interviews, so that doesn't concern me. I understand why it happens, and accept that.

Was more the circumstances than the security search in this instance.

A group of about 15 rowdy and loud anglo guys walked in just before me, and the security guys didn't blink. But I walked past minding my own business and they asked me to spread against the wall to be frisked and searched.

I told them fine, lets do it over there in the corner or the office, so i'm not treated like a criminal in front of about a thousand other people. They refused and insisted I be searched at the entrance with everybody looking on, so I kicked up a stink.

Long story short, the Manager comes out, nice guy who understood my point. Said don't worry about the search this time, but next time understand what the protocol is blah blah blah.

Sure its their right to conduct security searches, and its the individual's right to refuse. What happens after that is the interesting bit…
