This study mathematically concludes to save 3 lives from Covid, it costs 2 lives from the vaccine, but you also need to look at life years rather than lives. Covid dispropoertionally kills older people whilst younger people seem much less affected by it. Paradoxically the vaccine seems to impact (and kill) younger people disproportionally.

Mate - that study isn't worth the paper it is printed on. You've got to be extremely careful with what you read and listen too because you get junk like that.

The vaccine makes a massive difference ala that post Harvey stated. It massively reduces the risk of people dying from COVID.

OK. Its peer reviewed and published and is an analysis of the largest field study available in the world.

Please outline what is incorrect about the study and why it is junk? Because you dont like it? WHat exactly have they incorrectly calculated? WHat are they missrepresenting? The NNTV?

I'm not going to get into that junk with you. It's just statistical nonsense. The reality is that vaccines are going to have a massive effect in lowering everyone's individual risk and in lowering societies risk. If you don't believe this you should just go and do some research and if you've done research and don't believe it then you are putting the wrong stuff in your head.

The big issue is becoming much simpler in my eyes. Once everyone has had the opportunity to have the correct vaccines down to a certain age limit are we going to let it rip from that point on. People die of the flu every year. The elderly are more at risk. My opinion is that we are going to have to take this step.

Mate you just proved that you either havent read the study or cant understand it.

The study says that the vaccines are very effective at preventing COVID and covid deaths. The vaccines reduce your chance of dying of COVID to almost zero. Your chance however of dying of the vaccine is low but obviously increased but having the vaccine.

The study basically calculates, based on the Israeli data how many people you need to vaccinate in order to prevent a COVID death and the number is a big number. Once you have a big number of people taking vaccines then statistically you are going to have a number of people dying of the vaccine.

Its a worldwide trend surrounding COVID. Im not a global conspiracy theorist, but I can see how they get traction when everyone behaves as if there was one.

And this is how things get completely out of hand @Tiger5150.
It doesn't matter what the subject is, people come out and make statements without having the proof to back up their argument, the easily led get caught up in the silly negative narrative.

Im not sure Im following you '63. Are you suggesting I'm pushing a conspiracy narrative?

No definitely not suggesting that at all 5150.
But my eldest brother is a conspiracy theory believer.

FWIW, from my point of view, the whole conspiracy theory thing is probably a spectrum and my point is that if you wanted to make it look like there WAS a global conspiracy theory, you couldn't have designed things better.

IMO there are parts of the overall story that are possibly conspiratorial. For me, as Ive posted here regularly, the way that information regarding Ivermectin (a drug which the clinical evidence shows is not statistically effective) is being ACTIVELY suppressed is almost so deliberate that has to be part of something conspiratorial.

As an example Ivermectin (a drug which the clinical evidence shows is not statistically effective) has one of the safest drug profiles known. There have been 10's of millions of doses over 50 years throughout predominantly Africa. Merck owned the patent and sold all of these doses. This year Merck came out against Ivermectin (a drug which the clinical evidence shows is not statistically effective) for COVID saying that its safety profile has not been proven despite the fact that they sold it for decades. Why would they do this? Ivermectin (a drug which the clinical evidence shows is not statistically effective) is out of patent and has been proven to be effective in vitro against Zika, and many other viruses......then this month the US govt announced it is spending $3B with Merck to develop antiviral drugs.

Its possible that its not a conspiracy to suppress Ivermectin (a drug which the clinical evidence shows is not statistically effective), but everything points towards it.

Good post 5150 :+1:
My brother keeps emailing me stuff about Ivermectin (a drug which the clinical evidence shows is not statistically effective) etc and I gotta say the evidence re the positives of Ivermectin (a drug which the clinical evidence shows is not statistically effective) etc are becoming more logical and stronger every day.
Edit : I forgot to say I willingly had my 1st AZ jab last month and will front up for my 2nd jab in Aug.
I had zero side effects from my 1st jab, but I will have a debate with myself as to whether I get the AZ or Pfizer next time.

The potential cross interests and politics/$$ is definitely a thing - I've seen it in biopharma for years and years - I was part of it - so in a way it is a conspiracy..... not in the way 5G, vapour trails, aliens etc are, but it is a group of entities conspiring for their own purposes...

We don't have that problem in QLD
There's not that many arse holes up here

The last census in Queensland found that there was only one arse hole per two heads of population.

Well in Qld that's one in two
That's 50% chance of being one

In NSW it's 1 arse hole per head
That's a 100% chance that you are one
?????????

No offence intended

I saw in a few shops that they keep a sign-in list, perhaps they are scanned and then used as the QR?

The QRs are good as the info goes straight to NSW Health and allows for quicker tracing. Sign in sheets are good for people without appropriate phones but hinder the contact tracers.

But I'm not convinced that 2 heads are better than 1.
