It is rather concerning that Police are using helicopters with loudspeakers, out in the Western Suburbs, to order people inside or they will be arrested. Many in these areas have a background from war torn countries that they have escaped from. I can only imagine the trauma this is causing.

Additionally, I suspect many terrorist plots have been foiled by the cooperation of these very same Western Suburbs people with the Police. I fear the Police, by doing this, have lost the Western Suburbs and that cooperation will no longer occur. The consequences could be devastating.

Here comes the dictatorship brought to you by communism

No it’s not. You do realise we have elections and everyone eligible votes.

It was all over the city...not just the west, sth/west

I bet it wasn’t in the Eastern Suburbs. It certainly wasn’t our way. Happy to be corrected if I am wrong.

It is a poor decision by the police (or whoever made it) but that doesn’t translate into not being a democracy.

I just spoke to an anti-vaxxer mate. I intended to give him hell about getting vaccinated. He has already had one dose and can't wait to get the second.

Maybe we can get out of this situation.

Thanks @Earl , **this is the type of replies i was expecting from fair minded people,** and not the following disrespecful replies,

LMAO. He **literally called you stupid.**

I don't know what else to call people who cannot think logically. I did state it was either a lack of intelligence or a lack of emotional maturity. I think that is the vast majority of people who believe dribble on facebook or wherever they get their information from.

I reckon people like Tucker Carlson have a different motive. They want to create drama and division because they view themselves as entertainers. I reckon he has probably had the vaccine but won't admit it because then everyone will realize he is just playing a game.

Well, we're not quite there yet. I mean nobody is blocking tanks and being shot with invoices being sent to their families for the cost of the bullet.

The latest outbreaks are with people who are not vaccinated. It’s exactly what is predicted and expected.

My understanding is that vaccines are the no 1 tool that we have to stop this virus. It's not even close to the secondary tools which are masks, social distancing, cleaning hands and lockdowns. I'm completely fine with lockdowns but I can't see this as being a longer term option.

The UK is doing pretty well and it's basically completely due to vaccines. In the US there is a pandemic amongst the unvaccinated. 100 million people in the US are not vaccinated.

The interesting point recently is the AZ vaccine appears to be working really well especially in relation to maintaining your immunity. In Israel they just announced booster shots for those over 60. Israel predominantly used the Pfizer vaccine with I think a shorter time period between vaccine 1 and vaccine 2. It now appears a longer time period between the doses works better long term. In stating that it takes 2 doses + 2 weeks elapsed time to get the maximum level of protection.

It's a pandemic amongst the unvaccinated and they are dying at a rate of like 100 to 1. It's that extreme.

Vaccines are working exceptionally well. They aren't perfect but this delta variant is a killer. They are stating it is close to as infectious as chicken pox. It's much more infectious than the initial COVID. It's basically COVID now in that it is the predominant strain all over the world.

***I should be really clear on this - vaccines are basically the only answer at this point. There may be additional measures required but vaccines are working exceptionally well.***

Hahahahaha someone, who clearly cannot accept the truth of the matter, downvoted you. Maybe they are part of the unvaccinated forever brigade.

Large number of people are fully vaccinated and still getting it and spreading it

Link? Nobody that has been vaccinated has needed long stay hospital treatment or ICU. The vaccinated have not died from Covid19. Don’t know where you are getting your info from but I would certainly like to check it out. Mine comes from the NHS site in the UK and the CDC in America. Plus sites like Science Based Medicine.

Sure you can still catch Covid19 but the consequences are orders of magnitude reduced.

As has been said before this is now a Pandemic of the unvaccinated in both the UK and the USA.

Vaccines saves lives, pure and simple. Can’t get anymore direct than that.

Fact is vaccines have been roled out in an unprecedented quick time.

Don't really want to be putting these substances in my body every six months.

Shouldn't be rushed, test it, keeping in mind of future variants.

Do you need the vacine if you catch it naturally?

I understand this. I don't believe that you understand this.

I'll explain how you aren't seeing the full picture. You are stating because vaccinated people are getting it and spreading it then vaccines don't work. This shows a complete lack of understanding of the facts.

Facts:-

1. The USA has about a 60% vaccination rate.
2. There is an 8 fold difference between vaccinated people getting COVID compared to unvaccinated people.
3. There is a 25 fold difference between vaccinated people being hospitalized from COVID compared to unvaccinated people.
4. There is a 25 fold difference between vaccinated people being dying from COIVD compared to unvaccinated people.

Just to clarify these points. The unvaccinated who are the minority are the ones getting the diesease, developing worse symptons and dying and it isn't a close differential at all. It's a massive difference.

https://context-cdn.washingtonpost.com/notes/prod/default/documents/54f57708-a529-4a33-9a44-b66d719070d9/note/753667d6-8c61-495f-b669-5308f2827155.#page=1

The data or you could call it the facts are clearly showing that vaccination is by far and away your best individual choice to protect yourself from COVID.

The vaccines being rolled out so quickly just shows how amazingly advanced we are. The hesitancy that yourselves and others display shows how stupid some people are.

Yes having the vaccine even if you've caught it makes you safer. Crazy stuff.
