Cover for Robbie Farah in 2012?

One of my concerns for 2011 was who would capably fill in for Robbie Farah if he was injured and unavailable for an extended period? It is now history that he was a Man of Steel this year playing every game and a majority of those games with a restrictive groin injury.

Does the Club have a shadow Hooker signed for 2012 who will be able to hold his own in 1st grade? It does seem a while ago that the Tigers had excellent backups for Farah in John Morris, Dene Halatau & Isaac De Gois etc yet I am not aware that there is anyone of these players standard in Wests & Tigers lower grade teams plus Toyota Cup?

We recently signed Tom Humble who can play at hooker, not sure if that is officially the strategy that will be used though.

I guess in a pinch if Farah goes down during a game Fulton can do the job too, with benji occasionally stepping in to provide the spark when needed.

Agree. We have a number of players who could get the job done. Fults, Ndaira and Politoni come straight to mind, but Benji or even Lawrence could expose the offside markers with their speed.

Pat Politoni or possibly Dean Parata if he is still at the club. Chris Corby is another option.

You mentioned Farah's groin injury Ned, haven't heard anything about Robbie having surgery. You make a good point about a back up hooker the difficulty of having someone like Farah in the top grade leads to likely replacements being few and far between because they know their chance of getting a run in the top grade is minimal.

Tom humble can play hooker…..pat politoni.....fults, we can cover it well enough, i dont think politoni will get game time though

we have depth for hooker coverage - as per king of kings - politini, fulton, humble.

If it was me I'd pick Fulton, and then bring someone up to cover Fulton in the back row - win/win - quality player at hooker, and then some size in the back row in lieu of fulton.

Has fulton ever played fullback, wing, or prop?

even if he hasn't it's seriously a herculean feat the amount of positions he's played -

Apparently Matt Utai played "every position except hooker" for Auburn in the park footy last year - that would have been interesting, watching him play 5/8 or halfback…

Any of our aspiring hookers have gone elsewhere because all they will be doing while Robbie plays is sit on the bench as a utility (e.g. DeGois and Flannagan). Would be the same with Smith and Melbourne.
Fulton for mine because he has the combinations with other players.
