Its interesting.

NRL.com did an article called looking to 2012 for our club this morning -

ZERO mention of Robert Lui on it - in fact, when they named our top squad, they named MILLER as our halfback for next year.

Hmm….

its all guess work
im sure sheens doesnt even know what he's going to do yet

Guess work you say? That's this forum's greatest strength!! (And I include myself in that crowd  )

Lui's manager is going out all stops to try and get Lui 'sacked' so he can go to Nth Qld. I posted this 15 months ago.

i doubt lui's manager enticed him to allegedly assault his girlfriend.

why dont we get rid of moltz and lui and just go for carney? cheap halfback who was previously dally m medal winner to play along side marshall… mmm yum

cheap ? the coin being talked about is 200k first year then 500k if he is a good boy for the second year .
But on a funny note Gallen wants to take Carney under his wing .lol. How fast people forget what a GRUBB
'Gallen has been.Carney is doomed lol.
As for Lui, he has had two chances he definately falls into the no DH category.

Zero mention of Robert Lui? From the article:

**The rookie/young gun:** Jacob Miller – with the future of current halfback Robert Lui up in the air, Miller could get his shot at the top grade after some sporadic appearances in 2011\. He is highly rated at the Tigers, and could provide the control and kicking game which they have lacked since Scott Prince’s departure.

It's not exactly brimming with inside info. They've simply left him out of the analysis because his situation remain uncertain…

Not having a go with you but I think being charged with assulting your girlfriend twice and playing in a football tournament without permission of the Tigers would warrant dismissal.

Mate, it's a terrible crime. But western society works on innocent until proven guilty. There was a post just the other day on the forum about a boxer who was put behind bars for 20 years for something he didn't commit. We don't know the full story on Lui.

I agree on the football tournament and forgot about that. It actually may be enough for dismissal. But usually I think you need a few warnings from your employer first?

Most of the warnings from your employer is no longer required when Howards government bought in Workchoices a few years ago now. I sacked a couple of my staff recently and was told the old three warning things is long gone. In saying that is can depend on what is the NRL's contracts. I'm sure the clubs keep records on all players in case they need to sack a player.

The 3 warning system still exists can tell you that for a fact Unless it is a serious breach you cannot terminate someone with out giving warnings and its all got to be in writing on a file with the warning given to the employee You risk getting burnt otherwise

Not correct, it depends on the size and no of employees in your business. There are dirrecrent rules for small and large businesses

Yeah I wasn't sure if you were a large or small business but would warn you to make sure if you do terminate a employee that you have dotted your I's and crossed your T's for your benefit

On a side note… how funny is it to see the same old comments regarding our sides apparent weaknesses... too small (still pops up) and poor kicking game... ha

Lui is back in court today & has pleaded not guilty' according to 10.30 news.

😱pen_mouth:

well, not really shocked suffice to say if he pleads guilty and gets a prison sentence, he'll be de-registered, however they might tow a "substance abuse" line if he has problems with alcohol, methinks.

This is going to drag out, i can just see it.

I hope Lui goes, I could not bring myself to support him.

There is players in the comp I dont like for no real reason and cheer against, but that is on field only, Lui is in a category of his own….

WESTS Tigers footballer Robert Lui has pleaded not guilty to a charge of assaulting his girlfriend days after his team was eliminated from the NRL finals.

The 21-year-old halfback, who was stood down by his club after the alleged attack, briefly appeared in Burwood Local Court today.

He has been charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm on his 22-year-old partner, Taleah Rae Backo, at his North Strathfield house on Monday, September 19.

His team had been defeated by the Warriors in the semi-finals the previous Friday.

He pleaded not guilty to one charge today, **but did not enter a plea to the other.**

When he appeared in court earlier this month, Lui was barred from contacting his girlfriend.

The matter was adjourned to November 9 at the same court.

The only really interesting piece of news to me is what is bolded…

So his girlfriend bashed her self up,bruised her own face, come on,the only way he will not be convicted is if she testifies for Lui,and even then he will be hard pressed to get off.
He has already stated to police he head butted her,how can he defend that

The other charge was the back-up or alternative charge of "common assault". No need to plead to that as it is subsumed by the AOABH charge. Nothing unusual or even interesting in that.
